Our school owns a Bass saxaphone, but we never use it so we always lend it to different colleges around our area.

Isn't it usually the other way around? HS borrowing from colleges?

My junior high borrowed a contra alto from the HS once. The kid with the bass sax that I already told you folks about is gonna play it for jazz band lol.

at Best Music in Oakland they have a double bell euphonium. They might have a picture of it on their website, it's really cool. They also have an alto without any keys, just the body, no holes drilled in it or anything.

^ I TOTALLY WANT BOTH THE BBBb SUB-CONTRABASS AND THE PICALLO TUBA! THAT IS AMAZING.
I took trumpet lessons from a sax player when I was still in elementary school. He'd bring in (what I thought at the time were) odd instruments, like a soprano sax. If I played sax, I'd be completely jealous.

oh but you can play piccolo trumpet and c trumpet and eb trumpet and herald trumpet if you're a trumpet player. No limit to the odd on any instrument.

pocket trumpets are awesome!
Our band is adding a contrabass clarinet and an english horn to our band for the competition we're going to in D.C.

^I want... A senior last year had a pocket trumpet. When she graduated she gave it to a kid who is now a senior... A current sophomore loved it so much he got one of his own. They're feakishly small and awesome.

We took the accordion caption yesterday...if only there was one.
I may have seen a bass trombone, or it may have just been a compensating tenor...

I finally saw an alto clarinet! =] Contrabass clarinets were rare instruments to me until last year, and same with the soprano sax.

OMGGG a band in our district is marching (in pit) a contra! Once upon a time many years ago my HS band marched one alto and one contra. But that was back when we were 400 strong.
