Let's talk about injuries we have all sustained why in band. (or people we know, and if this is already a thread, my bad) I don't really have much, but one during practice i marched into a divot in the ground and i haven't been able to move my knee as well since. (I can still march with it though ) Also once during practice when the wind was over 55mph, some freshman in color guard decided that she wanted to throw up her flag, and it traveled 20 feet and hit me in the head and i fell down and almost dented my instrument, but i fell in a way so my body took the fall.

I got judo-flipped by a senior and couldn't run on my foot (I'm in xc) for about two or three weeks

sacrifice the body to save your instrument =]
lets see...my friend (in guard) was doing a dance move on her already bad ankle, and she like...idk tore something really badly and had to sit out for most of the season. another guard girl hit herself in the temple with her flag and "saw green people". she hit the nerve that controls parts of the eye and it messed her up a bit. i personally haven't had any major injuries, just little bumps and bruises from being clutzy haha.
we had a bunch of kids have heat issues at one comp. 3 went to the hospital (though they really shouldn't have...long story) twisted ankles etc from marching into holes.

What does judo flipped mean? Oh and i remembered another one. My section leader last year, being a girl thats like 5'4", got picked up by a tall senior guy, and got dropped, and she broke her toe and was out for like 4 weeks...

The guy was on his knees, and took me, grabbed my right arm by the bicep, put his other hand on my chest and flipped me over him onto the ground.

Ahhh... painfuls sounding... And another one i forgot. (Great memory I have, right?) Last year a girl in guard was REALLY mad at me, so when it was like 15 degrees out, she came up to me and whacked me on the knuckles as hard as she could with her sabre. PAINFUL!!! I couldnt hold my instrument for a while.

I messed up my groin and pulled a hamstring while doing a horn move at band practice. I would never sit out, though, so I just wore a brace around my thigh and knee for about a week. Actually, it wasn't even a horn move... we had to plant both feet in place, then with our right foot still stationary, turn backward at a 45º angle and kneel down with our right knee/left foot to face backfield, if that makes any sense. That is kind of an awkward stretch, and I guess I just took it too far.

I got heat rash (really small red bumps that don't hurt but itch worse than mosquitoe bites) all over the back of my hands and behind my knees. I was almost twitching because I really wanted to itch it.

This happend in the band hall, but it wasn't during band.
I was hanging out in the band hall after school because flutes were supposed to be having a rehersal. Our band director told us that he had plenty of sticky notes if we needed them.
So, a friend of mine, P-Lo, and I each grabbed some and we played sticky note tag.
I was standing in the percussion section, watching as P-Lo ran after one of of saxophone players. Then, she came after me and I turned to run. When I turned, I slipped on a piece of paper. Well, when I fell, I hurt my palms, bruised my elbow, and bruised my knee really bad.
It was acutally quite funny though.
