ok wow... I didn't say they WERE gay, I just said they didn't want anyone thinking they were gay. And as far as the FH thing vs trumpet... if you'll look closely you'll realize I was saying they didn't want to play an instrument that was commonplace. i know a ton of amazing gal trumpet, trombone and tuba/ baritone players. Doesn't make them gay. ... By the way puppies, your sig does say "I'm a real man!" (JK...)

Hmm Our brass doesn't really follow the stereotype either. The top 5 trumpet players are girls, all french horns/mellophones are girls, and 2/3 of the trombones are girls.

Strange, all of our brass section leaders are guys, and the only section that has had a girl section leader for marching season is the flute section.

Ours... the brass section leaders are guys (except the horns, who don't have one) And the WW, except for the low reeds who have a guy, are all girls.

I think that besides your "typical" stereotypes (flutes are preps, clarinets are perfectionsists, etc.), you have to consider those of us who double or more on instruments.
For example, I used to just be a quiet little clarinet. Meek, shy, innocent... and then I started saxophone. That corrupted me. The same thing happened when my flute friend joined drumline. And when my now-oboe friend switched from flute to tenor.

eh... in my band the woodwinds just hate the brass for being lazy and stupid and dirty. and having more fun. they're pretty mean, stuck up and they hate the trumpets, who i swear, never did anything to them, not even talk to them. omg. it's funny how they have the bigger egos than all the brass people put together.

Just a thought-- the woodwinds might not like the brass because they never talk to the woodwinds. Bands need unity in order to function. Inter-section wars are bad. I'm not attacking your band/section or anything, but that's just something I've noticed. If the clarinets are being egotystical snots, then it's just as bad as if bones/trumpets/etc. are being stuck-up. It's fine for a section to be proud, but constant divisions are BAD.

^ oh we talk to them.. just not a lot. we just have fewer woodwind section friends.. but we do have friends from the woodwind section, and not all of them are stuck up. most of them are pretty nice and like 3 of my reeeaallly good friends are woodwinds. lol most of em are just known to dislike the trumpets

Well in our band most of the disliked are obnoxious or lewd. (fun word!) That would be pretty much the entire guy half of the tbones and a certain trumpet who wiill here remain nameless... (not the one I'm always talking about, diff. one.)

well obnoxious is bad but you shouldnt really mind the lewd-ness. lol it corrupts people, just like it did to me, but to us it's merely an expression of love xD [at least most of the time... lol]
