so our band kinda pretends to like the cheerleaders. cause they pretend to like us. every group at our school pretends to like the other groups when were at games. but at pep rallys no one give a crap. like we play and the PRINCIPAL, of all people, turns on the stereo like we wernt even playing. then she comes into our band hall and crap. ugghh, anyways.
like saxy 18 said, its not really the cheerleaders... its more of the dance team. all the school LOVES the dance team cause they have skanky outfits on and shake their butts and stuff. and the whole school HATES the band because we play the songs from the dance team and everyone is like "just dance to the real recording to the song. the band sucks at playing that song for yall."
and the teachers hate the band because one day after school it was like 30 [hey, thats cold for texas people] outside and we practiced in the commons [an area where, when played in, EVERYONE in the school can hear]. and we played our music because the step team was practicing in the band hall. so they hated us for that because "they couldnt get stuff done with all that noise that was going on."
pretty much the whole schools hates us. but luckily [sp?] im transfering to a school where the band is a bigger deal than the football team. so im REALLY excited about that. ;D

see but the thing is for my school, the dance team actually has talent, the cheerleaders dont. and the dance team is nice, and they cheerleaders act like they are all that, and they are not. haha thats just MOST of them not all. our band, well the only part that is really loved is the drum line which plays at all the assemblies. and they got so many awards this year, but they never got an assembly. oh well

<-__-> Umm haha I used to be in a cheerleading camp. In fifth grade.
Aaanyway we [trumpets] like to get in the stands with kids who quit band last year [were trumpets] and we pop bottle caps in random directions and we try to hit the cheerleaders all the way down on the track. Hehe it's funny, we actually get them.

At our school its kinda backwards cause the varsity football cheerleaders are cool and stuff(I dated one), and they've won two state championships in a row. In fact some of them find the time to come to some of our competitions when they're not competing. Its the JV cheerleaders and the basketball cheerleaders that are full of themselves and try to pick on the band kids. Which is ironic cause all the scrub cheerleaders get put on JV and Basketball lol...but you learn to live with it i guess

At my school, I don't think it's during the games, pep rallies, etc. that the cheerleaders annoy me. It's during classes, where they sit there and talk loudly about their relationships and other stuff that I don't want to know about, while the teacher is teaching. And then they have to ask the teacher to explain it again because they were too busy talking and distracting other people from learning. Ugh.
Of course, not all cheerleaders are like that. One of my best friends is a cheerleader and she would never do stuff like that. Same with a few others at my school. But for the rest of them, yeah, they annoy me. I think they need to make seperate classrooms for cheerleaders lol.
Also, I think at my school the football team and the general school population is against the band. At band camp my sophomore year, we were marching and the football team had camp then too, and they kept making fun of us while we were marching and stuff. And at a pep rally this past year, the dance team was doing some routine, and some kid throws a full soda bottle, probably at them, but they missed and it exploded open and skidded and hit the band. And the kid didn't even clean it up. Our Assistant BD had to. Yeah. Our BD tracked them down though lol.

We don't really have a cheerleading team anymore. The broke up this past year.. but had try outs so they might make it to basketball season again. Nobody really likes them. Or the band. At football games, were our oh so precious football team basically lose most games, the band is sitting in the stands, we have the student section right next to us. So they decide they like to throw bottles and coins at some of the people in band. The administration doesn't even do anything. Its quite sad. I'm hoping the new band director will turn things around...

Anybody who harrasses the band gets thrown out of the stadium and reported to the school board if they go to our school or any of the neighboring schools. Its even gotten to the point where kids have gotten arrested for throwing stuff at the marching band.

Our cheerleaders r the most annoying. Especially to me, b/c I use to be one in Middle School and hated it. This one girl thinks she was really amazing making varsity her sophomore year. Um, honey, I made Head Drum Major as a Junior. U just barely made the team. When u can conduct 4/4 @ 165 beats per minute evenly spaced without a met, then we'll talk.

Ours are generally nice enough, although they have very toothpicky legs. Cheerleading steals your soul at my school, though. You don't have time for much else.

I have a story of triumph:
My best friend's older brother is a senior on varsity football. He had some other football friends over, plus my best friend and some of her girl friends. She was talking to them, and she mentioned how our bd wants us to do a field show at Homecoming this year.
The fooball players' reaction?
"That'd be sweeeet. Way better than the cheerleaders."
Cheerleaders: 0 Marching Band: 1
Yes! I mean, I know that no one in our school likes the cheerleaders, but for the varsity football team to actually say aloud that they prefer the marching band (ultimate geeks) to the cheerleaders.

He didn't talk to the school about it at all. Some of the band kids like to joke around and say that we jinx the football team with our terrible playing. So that makes them lose. =] The student section seems to like us more at basketball games more than football games. And the student section also throws stuff at the cheerleaders. I'm really hoping this year is different.

*sigh* Is all I can say about the cheerleaders at my school.
Us and the Cheerleaders tend to get along. Get along well actually, they get bored when we're not there.
But... as a Drum Major...
Cheerleader1: "Umm... can you like, play the stripper song? Me: "The stripper song?" Cheerleader1: "Yeah, you know. The one that goes... How does it go again?" Cheerleader2: "<insert horrible singing here>" Cheerleader1: "Yeah, that one!" Me: "I'm guessing you mean JMU?" Cheerleader1: "No, the stripper song." Me: "...How about the hey song?" Cheerleader2: "No we already did that, we wanna do the stripper song!" Me: *turns to corps* "Uhh... get out JMU" Cheerleaders: *walk off mad because it's not the stripper song* After playing the tune Cheerleader1: "Yeah, that's the Stripper song!" Me: "..."
*HEAVY SIGH*
