We don't really associate with the cheerleaders since we only really see them at games(or at least I did). It's hard to think of them as full of themselves since they don't really get much applause from the crowd. I think band members(in general) just have a natural disliking towards them.

I kinda like our cheerleaders. They're really supportive of the basketball band and have made up dances to all our cheer songs. However...some of them definately fit the cheerleader stereotype...but I like em. And our mascot is the bomb too lol.

Our band actually has a much greater impact and presence with the fans then the cheerleaders do for the most part...it's actually a little sad.
Other than that, we seem to be on pretty good terms with each other, though we rarely interact with each other outside of games.

Our cheerleaders for the most part are a compleate joke. THey can't do our school song right, and a lot of them are a steriotypical cheerleader. Our school despises and laughs at our cheerleaders, but the only time that the school listens to us when we play the school song is when they scream along with us. There is one cheerleader who is really good, and also is in band, and I will tell her that she did a good job after the games, but I refuse to cheer for them a a group. Our band hates the cheerleaders, and I think it is for good reason, because they do not like of respect us.

I don't really mind cheerleaders. they're often useful, especially for the cowbell chants. however, I think that the cheerleaders and band should be separate in some ways. my mom thinks that we need to get some band cheers that the cheerleaders can participate in, but I highly disagree. I think the cheerleaders should be one thing and the band should be another. it already bothers me enough when they do the chants to our B cadence. but yeah, they don't bother me... most of the time.

During marching season, we have to ride the same bus with the cheerleaders, but when my dad was in school they always rode with the football team. Hmm, wonder what happened there. Anyway, we always have them ride with the freshmen so the upperclassmen don't have to deal with it. Being one of the Dm's though I rode the underclassmen bus because they wanted on of us on each bus, and since I liked the underclassmen bus(i never rode the other bus) and the other DM was a senior, I didn't mind. For so reason though the cheerleaders started soing a cheer on the way to the game. No, no, no. I was not doing that the whole year, so I switched busses for the next game. That's the only major problem that I've had with them, but we also like to make fun of them sometimes, so that's takes some of there annoice away.

The cheerleaders at my school are awesome. They're really nice, and most aren't stereotypical cheerleaders. They always do chants at the games, and the whole band does the crowd ones with them. They even have a band cheer! And another cool thing they do is throw mardigras beads and foam fingers at us. haha and my BD has always said "the cheerleaders would have no crowd without the band." we're the biggest cheer section

hahahahahahah .... we do nothing but plague our cheerleaders. We scream out wrong letters in cheers, dont do right motions and everything and make fun of them getting suspended last year for hazing. We do not like the cheerleaders all that much, and we always win.

We have one or two people in band who were cheerleaders... they are members of our cymbal line.
but we have a general understanding with our cheerleaders: you give us lots and lots of candy, we pretend to be nice to you and cheer with you (but sometimes we steal their show and start our own cheers)

Oohhh. We had to share a bus with the cheerleaders on the way to state pep bands. Their coach was our bus chaperone. She hates band kids. I don't want to sound like "woe is me, I'm a misunderstood band geek" or anything, but she jus doesn't like us. So, kids in the back of the bus were playing strip poker. It got to stuff like "unbutton one button on your jacket" kind of thing. But when a trumpet took off his shirt, she freaked out. Come on. We see worse during parade season. Anyway, she said she didn't want a bunch of inappropriate hooligans under he watch. I would have sympathized with her if one of her cheerleaders hadn't gotten kicked off the squad and suspended for having inappropriate relations with her boyfriend in a classroom.

^ Ha, touche. (is that how it's spelled?) Something along those lines occurred here. Our rival high school's football team and cheerleaders were riding on the same bus, and there was some hanky panky going on in the dark, which also involved technical prostitution and cell phone recording. Band kids and cheerleaders have always been, and remain separate. There are a few girls in both, but they aren't typical cheerleaders, so it's okay. No hard feelings, though we make fun of them.

To be honest we show them the sign saying what we are going to play so if they want to do the corresponding cheer they can, otherwise we just play over them. 203+ band geeks kind of overrides 20 or so whiny teenage girls... although we have 2 band geeks who are also cheerleaders (play half, cheer half) If they want to cheer with us they can, if they ignore us, piffle on them, we're playing anyway. We really do have a great relationship. Mind you, the football players sing stands tunes in class, not cheers. And the Band gets 7-8 buses (including a minibus) and a trailer to ourselves, the cheerleaders get one bus to themselves and then the football team gets one.

Heh, we're so loud it doesn't matter if the cheerleaders are doing anything.
When we go to away games, the WHOLE band goes (thank God), and we have 5 buses to ourselves. It's nice! Needless to say, we never have a problem with riding with the cheerleaders.
But for our playoff game last night, the cheerleaders and the football team got charter buses and the band got school buses ... for a five hour trip. It's things like that that make me mad. Of course, being five hours away, I just now got home from the school. Yes, it's 4:23AM here. Oh well, we had fun on the school buses, so we can't complain all that much.
