Hehe... we went up 11 points between our most recent show and the one before it. HOLY CRAP. Our last show will be in Frankfurt, IL on April 5. I think it's MWCGC's championships. We're not going to dayton this year, but we will be going to the equivalent competition next year. Good luck everyone!

Winterguard's over for us. We walked away with 4th place.
Which is supposed to be good right? And yet I'm upset.
Why you ask? Well it's simple.
I don't know if you remember me posting about a show that was consistantly beating ours, a show that was "written" by my old director, a show that is very very similar to a show that I wrote for my guard final last year. Well, they got 3rd place yesterday. And I don't like the idea of getting beaten by a show that I wrote, that he had no right to use. There is so much that I want to say to that man right now, that I simply cannot because it would reflect poorly on me and my guard.

=\ *hugs x937594794769* thats horrible of your old director.
We got 19th out of 30. Although I'm not thrilled about our placement, we raised our score from first competition to yesterday's by 26 points. (We aim to improve by 15 points in a season, so thats really good for us.) I had a feeling we wouldn't make finals, just because some of the groups in our class have amazingggg shows. And the fact that we had trouble with ours that never seemed to work out completely right. =\

hugs for Baker!!!!
anyway, we took first in scholastic a class for our circuit championships!!!!! we weren't sure if we could do it because some of the girls on the rifle line had a case of the drops, but we pulled it off!!! now we just have to see how we compare to other guards at wgi!

I just got back from my competition in Frankfurt- 1st Place Independent A! Not bad for a first/last season. I'll miss it, but I'm going to enjoy actually getting more sleep during weekends than weekdays... and I still get to help teach rifle this summer, and may get an equipment solo this summer despite being hornline member. My band and our major rival band are in the middle of a 4-year long "battle of the dancing dudes" in which I and their hornline guy dancer try to outperform each other every show. I don't think he can spin, so that'll put a new twist in things. Anyway, congrats to all you going to WGI and good luck!

^ haha that is awesome. i wish we had a guy who would be ok with dancing on the field. ours are either to clutzy and would break something, or they wouldn't want to.

We only get to rehearse on weekends, so it's usually one 6-hour rehearsal per weekend if we're lucky. That said, it's amazing that we can compete with all these guards who have it as a class, etc, like baker mentioned.

My girls got second.
Not to be offensive or anything to anybody, but I was in the audience and I thought my girls should have gotten first, or second without the multi-point spread. :-\
I think our judges are biased, because the same thing happened to us last year. Except this year there were some past WGI judges that thought the same as us.
