Ok, total band racism, but--- male trombones. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO obnoxious... We have an entire section of just awfulness.... so glad clarinets don't get drill points next to them!

^ That's not racism, that's sectionalism! Like how I'm sectionalist towards the trumpets in my band, because they can't play anything properly yet they think they are so good.

EVERYONE HATES THE TRUMPETS!!!!! Hmph. Everyone's just jealous.JKJKJKJKJK !!! Oh well, in MY band, we're a reaaallllyy AWESOME section, so im not mad at anyone yet. ok, let's see, i haven't listed all of my least favorite instruments. So far it's flute/picc. I probably don't like saxes that much, though they can sound pretty, kinda..

Piccolo/oboe. No offense or anything, but they're too high for my liking.

Ok... clarification......... I have yet to meet a mature male trombone player. I am sure some exist somewhere- no one is going to get through a professional symphony rehearsal if the are cutting up and just generally being ughh every chance they get. So I am sure there are some out there. they just don't live in the Katy highschool attendance zone (or if they do they're at a magnet school.) Sorry to have unhappied you. I am sure you are of merit for this to disappoint you this badly.

Hmm. I think my least favorite instrument'd be viola. It can't decide whether it's a violin or a cello, and it tunes to the same notes as us cellos, which annoys me in no end. If I had to pick a least favorite band instrument, though, it just might be the saxophones. There's like a buhzillion of them in our band, and again, they can't decide whether they're brass or woodwind. (I like how I listed both of these by looks first, then sound.) I have nothing against either of those instruments, it's just that I prefer well-defined lines (Cello: Easy to play wrong notes but you can pizz and gliss and such; Clarinet: More accurate--either a note's right or it's wrong--but you can't gliss or pizz or vibrato all that easily.)

I really don't like... hmm, clarinets. When played by a pro, it sounds nice, but if it's just someone playing it, it's kinda annoying. [no offense] i agree the clarinets in our band R not very good soo it makes tat real squeeky sound wen they play!

^ This is why I dislike trumpet players. LOL Jk.
I'd have to say clarinet is my least favorite instrument. Sounds like a screeching cat.

Yeah, a crappy baritone can screw up a really good player. The instrument is notoriously prone to dents, and those can change the resistance on you really bad, as well as make the instrument go sharp or flat. If he has an airy tone, it's probably that too.
