Ecch, yeah... both of our tenors have a sorta fuzzy sound, I guess that's what I don't like about them. One of them sounds okay, but I still can't hear them cause of the brass... hehe ;D

hm..Id have to say oboe... we have a beginning oboe player in my band and she sounds terrible (no offence to her) but its even hard for proffesinal oboe players to sound good. i also hate the wood block my director uses it all the time..and it hurts my ears

I heard bagpipes tuning, and to me it sounded like they were sustaining un-tuned notes. They usually sound ok to me, but it was really annoying for some reason.

I really like bagpipes, but I have heard them tuning and it can kind of hurt.

I HATE trombones. We are doing the William Tell Overture in Youth Orchestra, and they drive me crazy!

*sniffle* So many clarinet haters...Even I, a clarinet player, HATE the altissimo octave. It's insane. I have to play 32nd notes that high. It sounds DISGUSTING. xP
But...I don't particularly have a least favorite instrument. It's most likely instrument that is played badly. Like, 6th graders (no offense). Also a reason why I always try out for the really good band. I don't really like getting stuck in an easy band.
...(I don't like chimes very much. Don't ask why.)...

Im not all that fond of the Clarinet or the Bassoon to be honest. just something about the way they sound that makes me iffy. When I hear either one being played on its own, outside an ensemble, I get annoyed.

In concert band, I pretty much like all instruments, but in marching band, I really dont like the clarinets. Theirs sound just sounds wierd on the field for me...

As much as I like horn players as a group, I don't much like their instrument. Granite blocks hurt my ears. The vibraslap is just weird.

^Our trumpets are the best of sections and the worst of sections...they have our solitary All-state musician, the whole music department's pride and joy, but they also have these two freshmen, one of whom just doesn't care and the other of whom isn't very good--neither of them can stay in step or march worth a damn, and together they probably lost us .25 or .5 from our show.

Its also the nature of their instrument, they are always out there and on their own ... so they have to be on .. you know what I mean? And when they have lots of exposed parts and they dont know them, its pretty embarressing .. ugh.

We had people like that. For the people who care but can't do it, meet with them on a day you don't have marching band and work with them. For the people who don't care, tell them to start caring or quit.

^IDK about the dude who doesn't seem to care, actually, because he had an opportunity to quit and didn't take it. I'm guessing he is in it for the trips, and he's starting to care.
