I was going to gout for Sl, but realized I didn't really want the title. I don't like the two other tubas in my section, or at least one of the two, and would have ended up yelling at him the entire time. Actually the filled out aplication is still sitting on my piano.
We march 10-12.

we have too many amazing jrs. and srs. next yr. for a soph to get SL... We had one who was unofficially the SL of the horns last year- they didn't have anyone try out and he was first chair during marching season due to some really weird circumstances.

Unwilling SLs are bad. Luckily our SL is cocky enough that he wants the job.

Wow, maybe I'm not all that happy to be a sophomore now. Lol. Well, now at least I don't have the "stupid freshman" title, and trust me, the '11 graduating class freshman this year, the majority were morons. I'm surprised the seniors didn't gang up on us at my school, on a more regular basis. It would have been deserved.
So anyone on this thread planning on taking those da*n PSAT's this year? Sorry, I've been working on summer homeowrk. I have a bit. So I kind of have my mind on school.

we are locked in a room and forced to as part of the curriculum at my school. (both jr. and soph. yr.)... My school hasn't had a national merit scholar for 5 yrs. and they're trying to change that.

We had TONS every year, then (HS 3) and (HS 6) opened up and took all of our smart people. I'm surprised PGTP didn't make it though... But then, on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't test well...

I'm taking mine out of choice. I want the scholarships. Actually I NEED the scholarships. I'm white with no particular talents that differ from eveyone elses or are above average so I have to fight hard lol, and brains is what I'm falling on. Lol. I have those though. I really don't want to take them.

Ya, I write well, just not the style that would get me scholarships. It makes me so mad, I can write good poetry but everytime I enter a contest I loose to someone who's written blank verse, come on, mine actually has thought and effort. Uhhg.
I've felt like complaining lately if no one has noticed. I'm stressed about 5 billion different things it seems. I'm not usually this depressing.
Oh well, movingonto a lighter subject- What color is everyone's tooth brush? Mine is orange! Yep random. I ask this to all the guys I dance with at dances that I don't know. It takes people off gaurd. Lol

Bright green.
I'm no poet (did you know it?), but I think blank verse is kind of like modern art--throw some words together that vaguely correlate and call it poetry. I'm not trying to hate on anyone's creativity, because there is a minority of blank verse poets who are extremely good, but for the most part, it's just a sort of vaguely structured rambling. I much prefer prose, because I like boundaries.

Red and silver. As far as the schools are concerned, no, they're not magnets, they just opened up in the part of town where a lot of smart kids live.

So how would PGTP "make" it? Maybe I'm overanalysing you
