But treble clef euphoniums are the same as euphoniums in bass clef. It's just a matter of how the parts written.

Yeah tromboniums, lol. I've only ever used it in pit orchestras, because we didnt have an extra trombone for me to play and he didnt want me to have a mellow sound, so I used that instead. Ugh, piece of crap if you ask me ... I dont WANT it to sound like a trombone!

We have a marching baritone that sounds worse than our trombones do.

hey guys. theres something ive been wondering, how many people here actually started on baritone/euphonium?
i personally started out as percussion, stopped band for 2 years since we had a terrible BD that also hated percussion with a passion, and then started back up once i hit high school as baritone since that was what was needed.

^I started as a percussionist, too, switched when we needed a baritone for a part and because my SL was a dillhole.

Has anyone here played Robert W. Smith's Willson Suite? I'm playing the second movement now, and it's a real sucker punch. Tearjerkingly beautiful, and at the same time packing some nasty lip slurs I wouldn't look twice at if it weren't such a great piece. Going from F to high Eb twice in as many measures is murder, but the results are godly.
Also, what the heck is with these bands that play the solo part on an oboe? The score says "concerto for EUPHONIUM and concert band (optional tuba)".

Because the oboe is a thief and likes to steal from everyone.

I actually started on euphonium.
And for the record, our marching baritones are terrible. They sound like we're all playing with socks stuffed in our bells. Even our 3-time all-state member couldn't make them sound good. But the band got a good price (whoo-hoo...still sounds terrible lol)

Hopefully they're not Kings, because that's the brand my band has.

They're clones of kings. They're Bach B1106s.

Speaking of those horns...Our band had a massive drop in brass numbers and this year and the sound is very top heavy. We have 18 flutes this year, and 15 low brass total. Last year, we had 11 flutes, and 23 low brass total. There's only 4 baritones this year (versus 7 last year) and I would like to know if anyone has any tips for getting more sound out of my section. We need help lol...

So what concert euph does everyone here play on? I play on a Bach B1110, a King 2280 clone.
