You're a new trombonist, so that's why you're hiding from them.

I am not so sure I'm going to like the shirts this year's show may spawn... I'm not a dark kind of person, but our show has a nightmare theme.

Our shirts, it turns out, are going to pwn. All thru practice this year the bd has been saying "play with a toh syllable, except clarinets, you play with a doo" so we're going to have all sorts of instruments on the front going toh and a clarinet going doo and on the back it's gonna sy "we're different" and give a nickname. Fun.

Last year's BUGWB flute shirt was brown and said "Don't be a Pansy... Play the Flute!" With pretty swirlies and flowers, then listed the motto and the names. This year's ... they haven't told us yet but it'll be school colors I love the BUGWB flute motto "Delightfully Decorating the Backside Line for over 100 years."

Ours (tentatively) say "Virginia Piccolos" on the front, and then "...We've got that Magic Stick" on the back.

We've had some good ones in the past. Freshman year: A Christmas wreath with the UI logos with two trombones crossed, with the words "Home for the Holidays since 2002" (since we hadn't gone to a bowl game in a while) and a little tagged sign that said "Gone Bowlin' in 2006". Which of course didn't come true. Sophomore year: Very simple design, simply says "MI Trombones 2007: Money" Has a picture of a dollar bill that was completely remastered by one of our section leaders. We replaced Washington with the face of our director, replaced the US seal with the seal of the Marching Illini, put the address of the trombone house on it, had the signatures of our directors, and a whole bunch of other details that just made it perfect. Junior year (this year): Another simple design. Picture is like one of those inspirational posters, with a very nice mountain background, with a trombone in front of it, glowing with majesty. Text is "Superior: Just when you think you're good enough, there is always somebody better". The explanation we give to the other sections is that we're always trying to improve and become superior. The real reason is that we already are and that we're better than all the other sections.

We may do a Weird Woodwinds one (oboe, sop sax, bassoon, alto/eb clarinet, picc) with a heckelphone and the words "what the heckelphone" on the front and "weird woodwind krewe '08-'09" and our names on the back.

Not really a section, but my friend (who is the other drum major) had an idea to spray paint drum major and the year with our names in M*A*S*H style (but without the stars...) onto sweatshirts. Her brother is going to do them for us since he's supposedly good at it. And we were going to have them for tonights game, but he was out of town all day, and was busy yesterday. But we are getting them done for the next game!

Drumline's were super sweet this year-- they're bright blue and yellow and white tye-dye (school colors) with our genaric logo on front. On the back they say 'Keep it on the DL'

The euphoniums came up with what could be the greatest inside-joke section shirt ever.
Okay, so our show is "Swan Lake." Some in our band (the guys, mainly) thought the show was too ballet-girly-like. So, the euph section leader drew a swan with Cloud's Buster Sword (from Final Fantasy VII). That picture is on the back of the shirt with the phrase "Cinco Ranch Euphoniums: Bustin' Up the Competition."
On the front is one of those small circular emblems where a breast pocket might be. The emblem is a picture of Silent Emotionless BD accompanied by the caption "Patron Saint of Euphoniums."
It's amazing and I want one.

For the cymbal line we had black shirts. The writing was in hot pink text and on the front is said "whos got the clap?" and on the back it said "We've got the clap! Marching Thunder 2008" and then listed the members of the line.

Our trombone shirt this year was pretty giggle-inducing. It's black with yellow text. On the front, it says Trombone Line '08-'09 (or something to that extent) and gives the definition of "talented." On the back, it's a picture of a guy with a trombone on his head with the caption "Talented like that."
It's eerily similar to this year's horn shirts. On the back, it lists names. On the front, it says CRHS Horns (or something to that extent) with a picture of a guy with a French horn on his head. The French horn's saying, "You're doing it wrong!"

I am not a bassoon but I am best friends with the SL and alto clarinet doubles bassoon enough anyway, so I get a shirt. It says "this is why we don't march bassoon" and has a comic strip of a guy tripping over a rock and impaling himself with a bocal.
