Our low brass is one section (trombones baritones tubas and Tenner sax) So we made a shirt that was all inclusive. When we got the shirts they were plain black and white. On the front was an elephant and underneath there was "louder is better low brass section 2006-2007" and on the back it said "Heavy Metal at its best" They were pretty cool shirts except the elephants looked gay (sry for the political incorrectness) and we thought we could make them better. So at one of our sections (aka hanging out at someone's house before a football game) we got out the fabric paint. We made blood coming from the elephant's trunk and tusks (yes it is rather violent) and then on back on top we put nick names laid the shirts in a circle and everyone wrote something on the backs. Inside Jocks, names, LBK... that kind of stuff. they turned out really good. Since us trombones like to b special we got that iron on paper and put our initials, year, and trombone cross bones on the sleeves. I think our shirts were the best this year cuz they were so personal. I can look at the back of my shirt and start laughing at some inside joke I forgot. Its also fun when non bandies or even non low brass try and read and understand our shirts. They never do

The whole band gets black shirts always, with the show theme and stuff. This year, we also had "Be Like Mike" on them, which is the slogan for this season in remembrance of one of our band members who died last summer.
Drumline has a genaric design they get every year in different colors and different things on the back, this years was green with last names. Last years said Beat it! and a kid got in trouble by a teacher because apparently it was too innuendo-y. If only they knew what we wanted to put on there. "I don't want to know your name, I just want to Bang Bang Bang" "Jesus loves drummers" with a statue of Jesus holding drumsticks (I go to a Catholic school, so they'd probably faint)
Clarinets pink shirts Front: pic of a clarinet, "06-07 Licorice Sticks" Back: We're totally Supermergatroid! I don't know what that means, I'm told "It means that we're really cool."
Trumpets Bright yellow A big yield sign that says "Yield to the trumpets" and names on the back
Saxs Some perverted joke nobody but saxes was supposed to get

Mello - Don't suck, blow!!! I believe it's "Blow, Don't Suck!" At Grissom anyway. That one is painted on the wall of our storage room. Actually, most of our section calls from like 3 years ago are. Shirts: Flutes - Front ="Latin Fantasy" the year, pictures, etc Back = all the flutes + 'honorary flutes' (people who bought a flute shirt but don't play flute) names Clarinets - Closest we're going to get is the 'Where's Shibley" shirts we made from All-State. Front = milk carton with Shibb's picture and "Have you seen this clarinetist?" (He got on the wrong bus and rode around Auburn for 4 hours.) Saxophones - Never actually made one. Trumpets - Front = C0CKY Mellophones - Front = "Mef-a-lone" Back = Noun: trumpet on steroids Trombones - Front = kniob sbrawkcad (mirror image of 'backwards doink') Inside joke, apparently. Sousaphones - Not making one?

I almost forgot about this, for the bones, in addidition to our shirt slogan... forums.talesfrombandcamp.com/index.cgi?board=common&action=display&thread=1126304356&page=1....we would put a "motto" for the year on the back of the shirt. It was normally just something stupid that we would come up with at the last minute, or one of our slogan ideas that just wasn't good enough for the front. My junior year it was "Live the Dream, Feel the Power", since that was the year we did the Rose Parade. Senior year was "15 Degrees and Rising". The bones always get nailed for horn angles (for us, proper horns up was 15 degrees), and so we had a motto saying how we weren't only going to meet expectations, but surpass them.

I don't know what are shirts will be for this year, but we've been talking about it.
It's got a hidden dirty meaning...so I don't know if I should post it...

The one I liked said, "What is the football team doing on our field?!" But I went to an Air Force museum and each plane squadrant had a seperate patch for their group. Wouldn't that be so awesome for band? Every section has its own patch to put on their letterman jackets or whatever.

Lol. sasquash [my cousin]'s section shirt says the cougar brass motto: "Do YOU get The Vibe?" It has an inside dirty meaning. And then she has shirts from her trumpet section, baritone, and trombone. I dunno what they say.

My freshman year my SL and another clarinet made us all T-shirts. On the front it said, "Clarinets . . . Enough said" And on the back it had our name and our coordinate (I was C7 at the time)
EDIT: Oh yeah, and last year the trombones made shirts that simply said "PLAY LOUDER" on them. Our BD would always say, "No, don't play louder, play better!" Lol it was funny.

Ahhh! Yes! Victory! This year for our Drumline shirt, we have our genaric design on the front (minus the xylophone and triangle, because i have no idea why they were on there in the first place) and our names on the left sleeve, with a big JESUS LOVES DRUMMERS on the back. It was an idea from last year of my old SL, plus our show is Jesus Christ Superstar so it fits. I love it.
Although the trumpets threatened to put 'Jesus loves trumpets more' on their shirts.
The only other section with shirts so far is the clarinets, which are dark purple with lime green writing and it has 5 You know your a band geek ifs...

This year, at summer band, we had a spirit week. The second to last day was section spirit day. My section leaders made us section shirts. They were lime Green, had a saxophone on them, and read "We practice safe sax" They were cute... the letters looked liked a ransom note. But our directors and a few section leaders misread them at first.

The clarinet shirts say "It's A Fiesta!" on the front, with marracas (sp?) and a guy in a sombrero (our band is going to the Fiesta Bowl this year). On the back, it says "Do It. Clarinets 07-08" on top and "Aye-aye-aye!" on the bottom. In the middle is a sun - the freshman, sophomores and juniors have their names inside the circle, and the seniors have their names on the rays. Then on the sleeves is a leprechaun and "LBRTA", which stands for "Long, Black, Ready To Attack" (our section motto). The leprechaun is an inside joke - basically, this one freshman never counts, so the seniors threatened to dress him up in a leprechaun suit if he didn't start counting. xD The trombone shirts say "B.A.M.F." on the front (if an adult asks, it stands for "Bones Are Musical Friends" xP) and have two crossed trombones. On the back, it says "What Squad?" on top and "It's Gon' Rain!" on the bottom (both inside jokes) and they have all the names in the middle. Plus, they have a ninja, an emo face, a biohazard symbol, and the Department of Homeland Security insignia (those were their theme days during band camp). The flute shirts say "Flooters" on the front, and they're made to look like the Hooters logo. ;D And on the back, they say "Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined" and have the names, then they have "F.A.B.T.A.W.K." (which stands for "Finger And Blow, That's All We Know", their cheer). I feel sooo sorry for our one male flutist. :/ The trumpets...well, we have this one set (#36) that kind of looks a little perverted. So, the trumpets decided to immortalize it by putting "Set #36" and the chart for that set on the front of their shirts. ;D The guard shirts say "We Put A Spin On Things" and have two crossed flags. The mellophone shirts say "The Kiwano Fruit Might As Well Be A Mellophone" and have a bunch of fruits on the back, with a mellophone's name and grade on each one...I'm assuming this is some kind of inside joke, becuase I don't get it.

Ahh. The Low brass got these amazing shirts that say "How Low Can You Blow?" on the front, with the list of names on the back. But a few of them are nicknames, like "Amazing" or "Ox" and then there's a picture of a piece of bacon for one kid because that's how you pronounce his last name. The best one was a soph. bone who is never in the formation, so they put his name way off to the side, not in line with the rest. The shirts were banned in school though, which they had to know was going to happen.
Mellos' say we're too cool for just one section h squared + x to the fourth

Well, us flutes havn't gotten shirts yet, but we are in the works. Our shirts are white with a black music staff going down the side of the shirt. On the front it says "FBI" and on the back it says "Flutes Bring It." Which is my username on here, lol.

My shirts hard to explain so I'll just post the pictures. Front: Cosmic Caos is our show. Back: The clarinets names & [if you wanted] a nick name. edit-Our flutes shirt had a Sad robot on the front becuase our show use to be the machines. and it said The machines [crossed out] Cosmic Caos. Then on the back is a comic from this site with the flute being able to play higher than the trumpets. Our alto saxes got shirts, but i dont remenber wats on them. Guard has shirts too but the other sections didnt get shirts.
