Yeah, we got first place.......but we were the only jazz band there. Got a superior, though. And we're playing at festivals this Friday and next. Anyone else have any jazz band performances coming up?

Nice job though...cool. ^_^ In concert band we're starting this jazzish song, Peanut Vendor . It's cool. Nope, nothing interestig coming up. Except jazz band tomorrow!!!! lol

Peanut Vendor. Sounds like an awesome song. Jazz is so cool because you can name songs whatever you like without needing a reason for it, you know? Peanut Vendor, Watermelon Man......

my high school jazz band is going down to florida for a big concert in disney in a few weeks....im really excited because they told us we were going to be lifted up to the audience lol....basically we start under the stage and they raise us up on a platform (they also said they were gonna use smoke machines lol) but to add to the wierd names we played a song last year called poltry in motion lol now what were they thinking when they decided that title lol

I'm excited for the stage lift-up thing too. Way better than a cruise ship, haha. ^ Hunting Wabbits anyone? (Go listen to the Bluecoats' 2004 show, Mood Swings. That's in it.) Or Coconut Champagne, one of the greatest Maynard songs ever.

Later this month, my school's jazz bands are going on an overnighter to the other side of the state (CBC). It's worth practicing for.

XD Wow those are some really odd song names. Weirdo composers! Just kidding. OMG I'm so happy, because I was really doing bad at this song The Groove Factor, and then this soli part I played it first time ever and did well for once!!! Rather that stinking horribly like I usually do. And also earlier we were playing soslos for warmup and someone really liked mine and gave me a thumbsup!!! =D Juuust a little bit happy here.
AND GOOD LUCK EVERYONE WHO'S GOING ON A JAZZ TRIP!!! It must be fun :-\ My school's so poor that...but I won't go there.

I listen more to big band stuff as opposed to modern jazz. Some smooth jazz is boring to me, but I can always imagine myself playing the old big band stuff.

I like big band and dixieland. I think it would be a lot of fun to play dixieland.

I like big band and dixieland. I think it would be a lot of fun to play dixieland. I like all types of jazz, even smooth jazz. I've always wanted our jazz bands to play something Dixieland.

^ Not as of now. Like I said, I'm mostly into the older stuff. And I really need to get myself a Chick Corea Album because the songs we played in jazz band by him are amazing. La Fiesta, Spain....... Oh, and I just got back from a jazz festival. My band OWNED that festival. And when I say owned, I mean we had standing ovations for every song, 10 million decibels of audience noise, the Outstanding Band of the Night award, Outstanding sax section , two solo awards, and a superior rating. I didn't expect to get anything, but during our first song (La Fiesta) my bd smiled on stage (this NEVER happens), and I knew we were jazzing everyone's socks off........
