Stupid Mizzou. Sorry to anywho who likes them but between our pansie football team and their stalling we lost what could have been a spectacular homecoming upset but NO. We were down by 7-21 at the end of first half but we worked our way to be tied 28-28 (it was spectacular) then they get a field goal. That's when it stalled out. *grumbles* If it's any consolation, we just lost to Miami in OT. And we were *this* close to clinching a spot in the ACC Championship Game. (Although as topsy-turvy as things have been this year in the league, we might have another shot at it before the season is out)

My football team lost, too. We beat the team earlier in the year; my guess is they got cocky and their heads weren't in it. Morons. We have a shot at the wild card berth, but the way things are, IDK.

(Although as topsy-turvy as things have been this year in the league, we might have another shot at it before the season is out) If it's any consolation to that, try going to University of Tennessee this year. We suck. We're like the worst team in the SEC. The real UT students think that the team should wear pink instead of orange because they are playing worse than girls. Sooooo. I realize I kinda dropped off the face of the boards for a while (can I blame it on being a music major?). So I feel an update is needed. Which is more of a rant (hence why it's here). I learned Friday that I can never march again. Ever.I was in yet another horseback riding accident (the first time since my original accident that I'm thrown and it's at a show- go figure) that landed me on my post-op knee. I had to appease my parents by going to an orthopaedic surgeon to make sure I didn't damage it. He said I only irritated the scar tissue in the left and he told me I have major fluid build-up in the right knee (but not doing anything to it due to its surgery in 1 month and 3 days). That's not the bad part. In fact, I'm feeling positive about my knees as of lately. The bad part is is that I mentioned my hip was sore. He took x-rays and when he came back, he had print outs of the pictures. He didn't think I'd believe him when he had to tell me I have "significant cartilage degeneration" in my hip. I'm missing about 60% of the cartilage. No Pride of the Southland next year. No more dreaming of marching in Phantom. I just can't win can I?

Regenerative medicine has come along way. My mom broke her back when she was thrown from a horse a couple years back (no nerve damage, thank God, but still, it's a major impairment). However, she's riding again because they were able to rebuild most of the tissue and bone that was lost using stem cells. And, as far as I know, our insurance covered it. My stepsister got a similar treatment, also successful, on her shoulder, which was experience serious degeneration similar to what you have. So, yeah, don't give up hope yet.

*grumble* grumle* rant*
I love Baylor's efficient notification system. First they notify me by email *after the fact* that the internet was down for several hours (great way to send a college campus into panic). Now they email me that hot water is out in the building... AFTER I take a lukewarm- freezing cold shower. They also tell me hot water won't be back till at least tomorrow afternoon. It better be on tomorrow evening after the game. Lesson to the wise: never try to shave in a cold shower, it hurts. And somehow I bruised my shin.

Soooo... The drum major of my band ...was... one of my closest friends. We hung out together spent a lot of time talking about random stuff and all sorts of normal friend stuff. Never mind that he was a guy. I've always been the "tomboy" girl that hung out with the guys- never really grew out of it. Then, the other day, he randomly just started acting like an absolute jerk towards me. This was directly after I at his specific request had made him a green bean casserole and given him the recipe (he had his first one ever at Thanksgiving and absolutely loved it. Yeah long story.) So I quit talking to him- I was pretty POd- and am waiting for him to apologize. However, he hasnt quit being a jerk. Im really getting sick of this- I really enjoyed being around him and I thought he enjoyed me but now... I dont even care. I'm ridiculously concerned that this may scar my chances for making drum major myself. And if I don't make it I'm going to have to quit band. I can NOT handle another year of the DRAMA DRAMA PETTY DRAMA that is my marching section. At least he wasn't my only friend...

....So I've discovered that I have absolutely incredible taste in women.
So incredible, in fact, that a girl who I develop an interest in, who's single, will become involved in a relationship, almost without fail, within a period of less than three weeks.
Generally it's with someone else, though. Which is kind of a problem.
(Yes, this just happened to me, for the fourth time in the last semester and a half)

Except I fall for the boys who already have girlfriends. Or the really charming boys who turn into jerks when you start going out. Ahh singleness. It's a love-hate relationship, really.

I am annoyed with my Calculus teacher, who will hit the end of class period and say, "I know I'm out of time, but let me show you just one more thing." And then spends two or three minutes going over another problem. Really? If you're out of time, you're out of time. It's not our fault you went too slow to fit it it.
And it might seem like two or three minutes isn't that bad, but when you've only got an hour before band and you have to run back to your room and try to do stuff, every minute counts. Not to mention that we're only a few weeks into the school year, and my teacher has gone over 16 minutes total. By the end of the year, she's going to owe us a whole class period.

Our director this year won't let us learn our entire show right now. He says that the judges want to see us "grow", so we're letting them see it. By only performing (well, knowing as they didn't teach us anything until January...) the first minute of our show. For our first two shows.
And, we're only doing like 6 shows this year, plus prelims/finals. It's just weird, because last year we did as many shows as we physically could (like 12+...?) and we improved our score every time (and had new visuals in each that we added on the ride there.) We had tons of fun, and it was the best thing EVER.
The new guy is talking about doing even less shows next year, which means we won't have a line because no one will join if it's less than the 6 shows (as it's 6 hours of rehearsal and 4 hours of sectionals a week at minimum, and over $500).
I miss last year's directors... D=

My calc professor does that too. and I have to run cross campus (which takes upwards of 20 minutes) in 15 minutes to make my next class on time. So when my professor runs over, I'm LATE LATE LATE to class.

Petty Rant Time.... I hate packing! Especially packing for a week in two very different Texan cities (for those who don't know, Texas weather is both unpredictable and very volatile.) For spring break (Saturday to the following Sunday) I have to pack for: 4 swing dances, 2 church services, 2 dance classes, spare "nice" clothes , a "meet the parents" outfit that at the same time has to be travel friendly since we're driving 4+ hours to SA, 8 nights worth of PJs, plus regular clothes for every single day of break (that's 6 not including the last Sunday and first Saturday). So somehow I have to cram ~24 outfits into my medium suitcase leaving room for a substantial supply of girly stuff. Not to mention 4 pairs of shoes (dress, sneakers, dance, inbetween shoes.) Guys have it so easy, what they wear to church can cover pretty much every other day. Lovely. My darling boyfriend was oh so kind to remind of that when I told him my woes. (lesson to the wise, boys, if your female friends complain about packing, let them complain, reminding them that you can wear 1/3 less clothes and look equally put together is a good way to land yourself in hot water)

^ I feel your pain. And I always over-pack too... I always have to have a "just in case" outfit for like every day x.x. Even though when I go home, I usually wear the same sweatpants and hoodie like everyday lol.

^If I were going home I'd be in jeans and tee shirt the entire trip, however I'm staying at my boyfriend's parents for the first half so I have to dress slightly better then the average college-day clothes. I know he says they'll love me but I want to try my hardest to give them no reason to have an opinion otherwise... *sigh* too much effort for break.
