When someone asks you to baby-sit for a couple hours, you'd think it would be, what two, three hours, right? Maybe four.
Well, my aunt called me yesterday, and asked if I could baby-sit the cousins (two of them) last night. So I did.
FOR SEVEN HOURS!
You know, it would be one thing if I knew it was going to be so long, but she only said that she was going out to dinner with some friends for a couple hours.
LIES!

I am FUMING! My knucklehead friends invited me to go see Fantastick Four tonight and I was really excited. But I didn't get off work till 10 so I couldn't really work out many details while I was at work. Well they leave me a message saying that I should drive myself instead of me picking them up and I'm like NO! I'm NOT driving at 3 in the morning for the half hour drive home! I've only had my licence for like a year! And they told me they'd call me back to see if they got tickets...well I've been waiting for this call for like 45 minutes and they didn't answer when I called them. Lets just say I'm really having to restrain myself from being extremely profane because how would you feel if you got invited to something and then the person who invited you decided YOU CAN'T GO!?!?!?!?!? I was reallllllly excited! I'm seriously gonna cry...

I have to watch my little brothers evey day this summer!! It wouldn't be so bad except they have no respect for me, and my mother seems to think that me watching tehm is more inportant than me going to marching band!!
How could anyone think that???

My parents are still threatening to take me out of marching band since I got a C in math. A C! I got a D first quarter and they could care less! And they're also mad at me because my FCAT score went down from a Level 5 to a Level 4, which is still above my grade level! I mean, I'm talking a math class a year ahead of everyone else! Ugh.
Also, watching my little sister and trying to clean my room WHICH SHE MESSED UP isn't exactly fun. And I'm not getting George's room after he leaves for boot camp because "I can't keep my own room clean!" Maybe I could if I didn't have a six-yea-old sharing it with me.

Okies, my turn to rant! The guard at Ashland University is on the verge of non-existance! Here's the reason: I got a call from the director of bands on Fri and he told me that it was not necessary for me to come in since no one had committed to the audition date. Now, the problem lies in the fact that unless the girls who were going to try out come to the drive ins and try out then, or show up to band camp and audition at that time, it looks like I may be the only one for the guard for the university, but that will be up to the director.........

People in our band now think it's acceptable to just skip rehearsal altogether. (Well, not completely - they show up, but they now find it okay to just skip certain parts.) Yesterday at rehearsal, two sousaphones (if you knew our sousaphones, you'd expect this) a saxophone, two trumpets, and the part that really had me fuming, two of my trombone-playing peers, fellow seniors, at that. We have sectionals for two hours, then go down to the practice field for basics, then to the track for parade, and then report back to the auditorium for full enesmble with the drumline and pit. These slackers just decided to rush up to the school from parade practice and sit inside one of the only air conditioned rooms in the school, hoping they wouldn't be found. I'm trying to do the best job as the trombone section leader as I can, but I've had it up to my ears (already this early in the season) with people not giving a dang. I don't think the trombones got it when I told them how they successfully "f*cked it up" for the rest of the band, nor do I think they cared. Yes, it was ridiculously hot yesterday, and four people nearly passed out on the track, but at least once you get inside, you aren't moving. You are just playing while standing. But no, they had the audacity to completely skip, and now because of their selfish stupidity, the entire band now will not get a break in between parade and ensemble. You just can't make people care, can you?
