There are so many nicknames throughout our band, somehow I've been dubbed "Boots" since my freshman year, theres also trumpets going around by the nickname of Lunchbox, Popeye, Stud-master, and a tuba player named Shaggy.

We actually don't seem to have that much in the way of nicknames here- usually you're referred to by your first name, or if there are several people with the same first name, your last name.

In 7th grade my friends and I were obsessed with spongebob, so of course, since I play clarinet, they nicknamed me squidward. I wasn't nearly as bad as he was though. =] But we really don't nickname people. Except we just call some kids by their last names. Just the groups of friends in band have nicknames for each other..

lets see... There's Boots (t-bone), Rachel (flute, that's not her real name), Spanky (oboe/ baritone), Ceasar/ Pachuco/ Pedro (saxophone)(can you tell he's Mexican?), The Horse (trumpet), Minion/ moe (trumpet), and The Pimp (PGTP, as bestowed by the BD in a rather awkward situation for everyone involved.) Those are all that I can think of at this exact moment, but there are more. A lot of the Hispanic 08 seniors had nicknames that involved the word Mexican, i.e. "Crazy Mexican" or "Druggie Mexican".

I was named "Ketchup" due to the fact that I slipped on a ketchup packet during lunch freshman year. My friend Kristin was named "Mouse" because she sounded like one. A trumpet dude turned French horn was called Frodo. A tuba player called "Do Rag". A trumpet called "Gouge".

There's this really conceited incoming freshman percussionist and my friend calls him Strut boy cause he walks all lopsided-like.

We used to call our old band director "Bino", which his real name was Mr. Rabinowitz.

I'm the Viper.
But we all have nicknames, whether it be our last name or some variation. Like in the Backseat Beats, our little group in the back of the bus, we got Syphilias, Lil' Kim, Quick Draw McGraw, LJ, Lil' thingy, and J-Radical.
And during marching season, trumpets are called by their dot number. We still call T8 that all year. And T1 is called that all year as well, usually with a God of Gods after it (honorary title).

My nick name is either pinkeye or rocky. The guy in the flute section is nicknamed Silver Spidey. A girl in the flute section is nicknamed BigButts McGee or something like that. Two girls in the clarinet seciton are Laurielle. Their names are Lauren and Gabrielle. :] A guy in the sax section is nicknamed Tank. A guy in the baritone section is named Biscuits. His brother, one of the techs, is named Gravey so we picked something that went with that. Another guy in the baritones is named Kris Brown...... Oh, wait. That's his real name. xD A tuba is nicknamed B-Rod. One of the pitsters is nicknamed Gimly or however it's spelled from Lord of the Rings. One of the CG captains is nicknamed Purple. That's all I can remember right now. :]

Ahahahaha. Nicknames are always fun... Let's see... -I am Boo. -Our section leader is Dragon Lady, cause she's really mean and stuck up. And because one of our brass instructors said that if we messed up Dragon Lady would breathe fire all over us. -Madame Thundercloud. Cause during marching season she was always yelling at everyone. -Mr. Fantastic-he's one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. -Starshine-As in the My Little Pony. Don't ask why. xD -Nebula-Our DM. In academic team the coach kept a record of how many questions we were answering during matches by putting stars next to our names. He had so many that we decided that he would be Nebula.

heehee! ohhhh the band nicknames, always so much fun! ^_^ I personally had several: Jillyfur, Chubbs (after the hobbit family name, lol), and shorty. We also had: Bud: last name was Weiser Giffy: last name being Gifford Goober: last name Gubler Fat and Juicy: because her jazz trumpet sound was "fat and juicy" lol McMuffin: bd could never remember McKennan Tutz: last name Tuttle Alice McSquirley, Malice: both given to our female trombone Mankray: instead of McKray Flashlight Lady: our colorguard instructor, she would shine the flashlight in everyones eyes on busses at night, ugh! And our BD we often called Sesh, Dr. Dave, and master. lol I am sure we had SOOO many more, but it's been 4 years since I graduated! They don't seem to have nicknames at my college band. too bad, really.
