i do this too. but i have finally decided that I'm going to try to get in Kent state u. it's the closest thing to my family, friends, boyfriend, and they have a mb. I wish I could go by that (though I am applying to the closest college... that conveniently has my major and is a whooping two blocks away from my house... and where my boyfriend is attending) but I think my boyfriend will just have to settle with me being 16 hours (allowing for no traffic) away outside Chicago. I finally got my senior picture proofs, well the one's so far. Depending on what "my' pony looks like I might get more with him/her. I wasn't really pleased, I have a weird build and 3/4 shots (which look good on anyone else) make me look either quite overweight or pregnant. The photographer tended to favor these shots. OH well. I'm not sure how many wallets to get or anything so I'm kind of in a conundrum. It finally hit me today during ahorrendous mb practice that this is my last year, I'm done. Instead of watching the seniors go up senior night to get their carnation and get their picture with their parents... it will be me and my friends! I think we promised each other not to cry during school song.

Ughhhhhhhhhh. Can we just fast forward to second semester, when college apps and midterms are done?!?! Spanish V AP is going to kill me. I feel like I am so behind in where I want to go. Just giving up and going to Maryland is sounding more and more appealing. I don't think I'll ever have an "OMG I really want to go here!" moment. We got lectured on all the paperwork and what not today. It's too much to keep track off! I miss summer.

So I'm auditioning for Juilliard. Yeah... I don't know if I'm just paying $100 + whatever amount to travel for a rejection letter or what.
I have a really bad case of senioritis right now. I've had it since sophomore year but it just really hit hard. I just want to graduate!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also applying to Vanderbilt, Belmont, and (of course) Univ. of Tennessee Knoxville.

I sent in the first two of my five applications. Millersville (only if, heaven forbid something devistating happens) University, and Mercyhurst (tied with IUP at second) IUP has yet to open my term for applications and I have essays to write for Etown (back up, or if my friend's drastic predictions come true, neither of which I'm too keen on right now) and Wheaton (First choice). For Wheaton I have to write my testimony (life story essentially) but I presonnaly hate mne becayse it's very cookie-cutter and bland. I mean that's one thing no one shuld lie about I just know its going to earn me no brownie points with a distict lack of a number of Christian duties (which I won't go into here) and I have a small problem with getting a Pastoral Recomendation. I'm getting more letters from colleges all over the country. I got one from a school in N.O. today and a ton from St. Vincent.

Hey, guys, try to keep things in perspective. It just dawned on me today that I'm about a year and some change away from graduating from college (assuming I don't ask for an extension, which I might, but that just means I'll be here a semester longer). Now that is scary.

My mom wants me to fill out 14 applications.
Yes, that number is not a joke. 14. Fourteen!
I had to put a list of schools together that I was even half interested in (pretty much anything in the state of Michigan that is not north of the bridge). There were 15. One I can't, becuase you need 3 years of a foreign language, and I need two.
But I still "have" to apply to the other 14 schools.

I'm feeling senioritis on the second day of school - I just want to freakin' go to Vanderbilt. At least my campus visit gave me something to really work for this year... It's still my dream school if I can survive the very very large insects and 100+ degree weather. This year is going to kill me. Like today. I get up at 6, went to school from 7:15-2:30, went to senior pictures at 3, got a chicken sandwich at Wendy's to hold me over, went to work from 4:30-8:30, came home, did my AP Economics, Earth and Space, and AP English homework, and found 30 minutes to log on here and do something relatively fun before going to bed at 10. At least every day won't be like this... I hope. And I'm missing the ESPN2 DCI Finals broadcast, too, probably.

I haven't seen any of the bugs though... even though everytime our band has competed at Vandy it's always smelled REALLY funky in the stadium parking lot.

The counselors were like "pleaseee don't apply to more than 5-6! for everyone's sakes!"

My mum dragged me away from my homework, telling me "DCI takes precidence of Calculus and Economics. You have an off period tomorrow, do the homework then. Now it's time to watch drum corps." Reminds me why I love her. ;D

We both reached the consesus that we both like the late-90s Phantom Regiment and hated this year's narration during the Cadets show. Her class is extremely boring but at least she knows her corps.

^ Lucky you! I was just impressed that my Physics teacher last year knew what a trombone was when we were discussing frequency and wavelength. If only I could rant about the narration in This I Believe with a sciene teacher, or any teacher, for that matter. I think I'll be able to handle the workload this year. I really hope so. My AP English teacher kind of scared our class into not getting senioritis, though, so I think that's reason enough. Oh, and yay, I opened a checking account yesterday! I feel like an adult... kind of!
