So I have yet another incredibly tough decision to make. BUGWUB (marching band) or Equestrian Team (should I make it). There's a conflict with the two schedules so I can only do one or the other. There's no guarantee that I'll make equestrian team but there's no chance of getting a scholarship with band. I'd have fun with both but riding has always been my detox sport- while band can increase my stress levels, riding has always been very kind and decreases them. I can't do the riding association if I choose not to do the team because their ranch is 45 minutes away from campus so that means I wouldn't be able to ride more than a few times year unless I make friends with a member of the association with a car. I just don't know which I should choose.

Go with riding--you can do ensembles other than marching but evidently you can't ride outside of the team.

Not to complicate the picture for you and not knowing anything about the BUGWUB band, but college bands are usually VERY different in nature than high school bands. If anything, they are usually far less stressful, especially if you were in a competitive band.

17 days until Graduation (June 8th).
On the other hand, one of my really good friends, Ryan graduated today. My school held a special graduation ceremony for him today, because he's going into surgery, and he might not make it out. He's been battling bone cancer for 7 years, and undergone 4 lung surguries, the amputation of his hip, more chemo than I can imagine and now this removal of his jaw cancer growth. I was so glad that we held a graduation for him, because he's such an amazing kid.

^ Same here!!!
And Greenepony-- I would go with Equestrian Team. I'm lucky that my schedule should allow me to be on the UTET and do school of music (but I'm not marching this year).

*dances around* there's a chance I can do the riding team AND BUGWUB! I emailed the coach and she said we'd have to talk about it and see if we can work around it (I'm praying that's favourable to me being on the team)
That means this summer is going to be mighty expensive: dorm supplies, new breeches (I have one pair that fits...ish), new hunt coat/get old one tailored, new field boots (I'm not picky about this, I just need ones that don't pinch my tendons when I post), and new picc (or pay 139 to get the old one fixed). Plus tuition, room, meal plan, activity fees, NCAA certification....

^Wow! That's really late. I leave like the second week of august I can't imagine heading down and not knowing where I'm staying.
Haha because I'm doing BUGWB I get first choice of what bed I want... that is if I have roommates at all... I can't get a hold of either of mine and we were all notified over two weeks ago (I'm hoping they're on missions trips and so can't get internet).
