Please pray for a girl in my school. She got in a four-wheeler accident last weekend and was airlifted to the hospital. They induced a coma for her right away. She improved slightly, but the doctors say that the brain damage she suffered from lack of oxygen during the accident is irreversible. Her lung collapsed this morning. Please find a minute to say a prayer for her and her family. It would mean the world to her, her family, and our community.

my friend Ryan is back in the hospital undergoing chemo because his cancer came back again. Please, if you can spare a moment, pray for him. He's been fighting cancer for over six years.

(sorry for the double post)
A few minutes ago I received this message from my club secratary:
"I received news this afternoon that Frankie Manning is not well.
Frankie is a world renowned Lindy Hopper who began his career in the Savoy Ballroom in NYC in the mid 1930's and brought many things to Lindy Hop, and the world of swing that our Dia dancers did just a few days ago, including air steps and synchronized group routines.
I feel like he is one of the last living people who can give us a taste of what Lindy Hop was like back in the Golden Era. HE celebrates his 95th birthday in May. Frankie and his friends danced to folks like Glenn Miller, Ella, Basie, and other greats live an in person, and has traveled all over the world teaching the next generation of dancers.
According to his son, Chazz, "as of 3:30pm today Frankie's condition is declining, he was not responding to medication nor to loved ones... he is not opening his eyes now when he is prompted to do so. Reluctantly Chazz has said that Frankie is lying on his side and continues to be non responsive, and at this rate the Dr's believe/expect that Frankie may pass tonight or early morning... barring a miracle."
At Lindyfest in March, he expressed his love and appreciation for all of us and thanked all of us for sharing so much with him and he did remind us that he was passing the torch to us, so that said, lets not falter when he needs us most. Remember the power of prayer and if it is God's will for him to go on to Heaven then we will continue to love, appreciate and celebrate Frankie's life and his love of dance.
Also at Lindyfest, after a performance, Frankie remarked that it was the best dancing he's ever seen. The looks on the performer's faces were so genuinely appreciative that it made me emotional.
The thing I like most about Frankie is that he's so simple. He's just a man doin' his dance and helping others discover and learn it too.
Please keep Frankie and Chazz in your prayers. "
I know that Frankie doesn't directly affect most of your lives but he is one of the few remnants of our past. How many of you love playing or listening to jazz? Do you really think that music would have been so prevalent if there weren't people to dance to it?

Double Post... My graduating class in high school just lost our second. Almost four years ago to the day we lost our first person. Both in band and both quite popular. My whole hometown needs prayers right now, especially his family.

My best friend is moving to Arizona in a month. We're both really upset. Please keep both of us in your thoughts. Another really good friend of mine...her great grandma passed away three weeks ago. Keep her in your thoughts as well. My great grandma is developing Alzheimer's. Last time I saw her she couldn't remember who I was. It really made me sad, because she's been there from the time I was born.

^ Where in AZ? I woke up this morning to "Grandma passed away." She and I were close. She meant so much to me.
