Perhaps I'm weirder than even I sometimes think, but I seem to dream about band... a lot. The other night, I had a band nightmare:
My old dm was getting married, and the whole marching band was invited to her wedding. When we got there, I realized my clarinet was out of tune. I saw the assistant marching band director and told him my problem, and immediately he started ripping the cork and pads of my clarinet! Then he snapped both middle sections into little pieces and threw the whole thing away. I sank to my knees, sobbing in the street, and when I woke up, the first thing I did was open my instrument case to make sure my clarinet was all right.
Anybody else dream about band?

i had this dream a few weeks ago:
we were playing a song for band. it was suposedly about a guy and a girl that wanted to be together but couldnt cus they were from opposite groups (like romeo and julette). and our BD wanted to act it out during the concert as we played it. and he wanted people from the band to act it out. for some reason i really wanted to act it out.
idk it was just REALLY strange. i woke up and i was very much confused.

Oh, many times. One time I was playing stand tunes, and our band director told me I wasn't playing loud enough, though I knew I was. My parents told me the next morning that I said, "But I am playing loud enough.
Another one was that out band director was assassinated, and I had to take over and lead the band to State Contest.

In one of my dreams, I was at the competition where I had my highly dramatized slip in the mud. In real life, I got back up (as the person marching next to me said) "like a Mexican jumping bean." But in my dream, I actually tore the lig and couldn't get up. And since in the very next set the whole band moved one direction, I caused a huge pile-up and we lost. It was traumatic.

I've had reoccuring dreams about being back in my old high school band program. Which is kind of odd since, marching band aside, I didn't really *like* my high school program all that much (mostly because I was stuck in the middle band for all four years, which wasn't much fun).
When I wake up, it always take me a little while to remember that I'm in college now.
I do kinda wonder if there's any meaning behind them, though.

I had a dream once that I went to a competiton, and we all got kidnapped by Amish people....
I'm still not sure why.
But hey, wasn't there an older thread like this?

I had a dream last night that was kind of a band dream. ok, so I had a dream that Kes' dad came and picked me up at my house to go to band practice, and her sister was there too, and we drove halfway to the school and I realized I'd forgotten my flute somehow, and then somehow we ended up at Walmart and I ran around trying to find stuff I needed (one of which apparently was one of those plastic/rubber bouncy balls that are in those huge basket things, you know what I mean?) and then ran back out to their van... and then I realized I'd forgotten something, and frantically ran around looking for it, but I didn't know what I'd forgotten. it was really frustrating, lol. and then I ran back and we drove to school... and still ended up being on time for practice somehow. it was kind of a nightmare, really. besides that, though, I've had many other band dreams. sometimes they're really confusing and strange, and I've had a couple band nightmares, and a couple of really good ones too. I also don't usually remember my dreams, but sometimes I'll wake up and remember that it was about band but can't remember anything about it. the strangest dream I've ever heard of was when the night before 7th grade band festival, my mom dreamed that we got a 3, and we ended up getting a 3. it was tres bizarre.

I remember posting some humongous post about this on the old forum! My favorite band dream was really strange. Our band director announced that our big trip for the year would be a bus trip to Alaska. (Funny, we're talking about going on an Alaskan cruise this year. This dream was two years ago... prophetic, maybe? ) Can you imagine how horrible that would be to drive from Pennsylvania to Alaska? I could barely survive the 19 hour trip to Florida. Anyway. So, we got there and basically parked the bus on an ice floe in the middle of the ocean, somehow. Our BD got out and said, "Well, everyone, we're here! This is the trip!" We all kind of stood, freezing, staring at him like he grew another head. The "you've gotta be kiddin' me" look. After everyone stopped their staring, suddenly a polar bear came up to me. The thing challenged me to a snowmobile race. The whole band started cheering my name (also sort of freakishly psychic - this year, the band did that to me at the Thanksgiving dinner in imitation of my relatives calling my name from the sidelines at Macy's) and wanted me to accept the challenge. So I did, and the polar bear pulled a snowmobile out of nowhere. I snapped my fingers and a snowmobile appeared for me, too, but it quickly transformed into a shopping cart. I got in it, Bam Margera-style, and started riding around the iceberg in the cart. I relapped the polar bear a couple times in my magically propelled cart... and then got back on the bus. The whole band did, and we drove right back home.

And last night I had one that they decided to have band practice at my house, and everyone was all hostile and mean...

I had a dream last night that my bd was talking to this kid in my jazz band (whom I'll call Engelbert) and telling him he should break up with his girlfriend because it was starting to affect his usual perfect playing abilities. Engelbert got all mad and started to say it was his life and he could date whomever he wanted when my bd started yelling at him about flying to Hawaii to visit his girlfriend instead of showing up for all of our jazz gigs. Engelbert started swearing, saying that he was already sitting on the airplane and it just made sense to get the ticket while he was there. Then my friend (who likes Engelbert) walked in and announced that she should be his girlfriend and then she started to cry, and Engelbert went and patted her on the back. Then she left the band room and couldn't talk, so I thought she was having a stroke, so I brought her down to the nurse who diagnosed her as "lovestruck." Then Engelbert was practicing his sax, but couldn't because he was using a trumpet mouthpiece. Then our lead trumpet walked in, said "That's just wrong" (about his mouthpiece being used by Engelbert), and then I woke up.
But before that I had dreamed that the band had brought all of their instruments and were going to watch a play. Then this old guy with a clarinet showed up, and he started telling me I should be marching the clarinets out into the auditorium to play, but I told him this was the concert band, not the marching band, and that we were just supposed to clean our instruments during the play.
Weird.

Ha. I had a dream that my English teacher told me that I had failed his class and that I needed to drop band so that I could do some make-up work. English is my best class in reality, but I went on Powerschool to check my English grade just to be sure when I woke up that morning.
I also sleepwalk sometimes. The night before solo and ensemble, I apparently got out of bed at 1:00 in the morning and pulled out my flute. I didn't play, but my parents were a little weirded out. My excuse, at the time, was "I'm not ready! I need to practice!"

I've had tons of band-related dreams, but I tend to forget a lot of them. One I do recall: I recently joined this local percussion group's bassline after being in pit all of my life, so I dreamed about visiting my high school BD to tell him about it and show him all the cadences we're playing and stuff.

During band camp I had a reoccuring band dream...
I kept dreaming that I was at band camp and I was really tired and I had like...conversations with myself in my dream saying stuff like "no, you're not at band camp you can sleep now" "yes yes I am at band camp I can't fall asleep at band camp" and so on...it was special. I seem to remember actually sitting up in bed a few times because I thought I was supposed to be upright and at attention...
And my friend had a similiar issue. 'cept apparently she actually sat up and bed at attention using a stuffed animal as her trumpet to come to attention. Then another night she said that she actually got out of bed and started marching around her room. I believe as she said that when she fell back into bed she said "AS YOU WERE SIR!" But I don't know.
