I had a band dream last night! It was the first in a few months, but I can't remember it. All I remember is that there were MB people in it.

I have the weirdest dreams about band. The one recurring one is that our school turns into an overnight band camp, for the brass players only. And the 300 building turns into dorms that are assigned by section and not gender. And we were learning feild show stuff, which is odd because we don't have feild show. And there are evil gophers who kidnap people and steal instruments. and no running water. and the trombone players went around hugging people. and there are no stupid freshmen because the freshmen who act stupid and don't care about marching get fed to the wolves who gaurd us from the gophers. And all this was dreamt between football season and festival season when I suffer from band withdrawls.

I just had a dream last night about being back in high school band. I was setting up for a percussion ensemble rehearsal with my old pit instructor, and my part had some really weird auxiliary instruments, SO weird that I had to ask my percussion director what they were! The only ones I remember were this really tiny silver whistle and a "virgin drum case" (i.e. a case that wasn't totally beat up... and we didn't have one).

I have band dreams sometimes, but my latest was this really weird youth orchestra dream...I guess that counts. I had just finished Brave New World for English (awesome book, btw), and all the youth orchestra people and I were running around in their world and everything was really colorful and we were all excrutiatingly happy. They had never heard live music before, so we were some type of phenomenon, and all I really remember was that there was a room with a sort of beaded curtain made of plushies...really vibrantly colored guitars on one side and random fruit on the other...
It was really quite strange.

*laugh* i have many band dreams, though i forget what the details are on most of them...my most framous marching band dream was when i was in eighth grade. (my bro was in marching band then, so i knew how it worked)so i was in the middle of an arc, playing my flute with other flutists playing in the arc beside me. on the podium was a person conducting (i didn't know who it was at the time, but now i know it's my head BD) and in back of him was a brand new stadium. i woke up, and never really thought about it again, until i was actaully in the middle of the arc, playing my flute, with other flutists playing beside me in the arc, and my BD on the podium conducting, in front of the stadium that was just finished being built earlier that week...so, my marching band dream came true! scary, huh?

I just had a bunch of nights of band dreams in a row. I had one that was a dream about me talking to a band person, then one about our jazz band's piano player. She was sitting at my kitchen table, playing her part for "La Llama Azul" again and again. The next night, I dreamed our jazz band's drummer was playing perpetual eighth notes on high hat in my front yard, while I was sitting on my non-existant porch drinking lemonade.
Weird.

I had a dream that my SL was our foreign exchange student. He only spoke in grunts and squeals. My mo didn't find it weird-she said he origionally (sp?) came from a place called BAND CAMP. (the whole dream makes sense, seeing a si play sax)

Last night I had a dream where all my baritone section's baritones were made of PLASTIC! And I was like, cool! But then I saw myself from a distance, and told myself, What the heck are you saying?! You're crazy! Line them up and start shooting them! You've got no time left!! Then I said, awww, why? Poor baritones! I should let my baritone people steal them [which sounded really retarded because the baritones belonged to them] and put them in a cardboard box! And then everything got covered in fog and I woke up. Geez, what a stupid dream.

I had a strange band dream once. I was practicing the wood block for Havendance when I'm a flute player. o.o;
I also had a dream that I was playing bassoon correctly, except it had to buttons!

My dream:
There is a trombone player who's mom needs directions for EVERYTHING!!! And we travel alot. So I had a dream when we were going to Antartica to play for the perguins down there (don't ask me why) and this kids mom got mad because she didn't get Directions. So I gave her directions to the North Pole because I hate here. Then at the competition down there we lost to the penguins and our to DMs at the time got married even thow one is guy and the other is VERY straight. It was really weird, but then again I was in the hospital and doped up pretty good.

I think I had two band dreams in one night two nights ago. I only remember one though. It was that my BD was leaving randomly, and I was all sad and depressed and stuff. But then I woke up.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's almost a bit scary how much high school marching band features in my dreams these days- I usually have dreams involving it at least a couple times a month, far more than any other topic. Which is quite odd, given that I've been out of high school for over two years now (as I mentioned earlier in the thread).
The really weird part is now I'm *aware* of the fact that I've left high school in these dreams, but I find myself back there anyways- which of course makes it even *more* surreal.
At this point, I'm hoping I'll be able to transfer to UVa (off-topic: I find out next week! Cross your fingers!), so I'll be able to get involved in college marching band, and hopefully start dreaming about that instead :-)

Ok, so I was late for a football game. I ended up getting there about 1/2 through the half-time show. I wasn't prepared at all, so I came out onto the field carrying my uniform on a hanger + hat-box and my bass clarinet case. I put all my stuff on the back fence and changed into my uniform. Then I bent down and pulled out of my bass clarinet case, ... my trombone. So, I run to my set and march the remainder of the show [And we were playing 'Tiger Rag,' the GHS fight song.] About 2 sets from the end , I remembered that I don't play trombone and that I wanted to learn and was thinking how strange it was that I was marching with one. We finished the show and came off the field into the school [which is in reality, across town] and the roof was really low. Like, my head almost touched it. And everything was really clean. And I wasn't wearing my hat or jacket when we came inside and I handed the trombone to Stephen and he gave me back my saxophone. And I think that's where I woke up.
That's the only one I've had that was actually about band. The rest are about people in band with me [mostly '07 seniors and new leadership].
Like, 2 weeks ago, I had this crazy dream about one of my senior trumpets and a girl that played flute in my middle school band. 2 nights ago, I had one about one of the new DMs and one of my senior Bassoon boys. And last night, I had another dream about that same bassoonist.
I wonder if I'll dream about band tonight because of talking about it right before bed...

I had this crazy dream a few months ago, but i fremt the same thing last week......warning, it is REALLY WEIRD, and the only thing it has to do with band is that bandies were in it and a jazz song that we played was in the backround.
My SL and I were married (YAY!!) We ran a resort and two of our regular customers were Bariclaribob and her husband (a guitar and baritone player in our band). They always came alone, even though they had 3 kids-a love child named Thor (the name of BCB's oboe) a kid named bari (the bari sax) and a litlle girl named clari (you guessed it-a clarinet). BCB hated Clari and wanted to drown her.
Not so weird, right? It wouldn't be except......
We ran a NUDE resort!!
What is wrong with me??
