Did something happen in band that was funny that you look back to or happened recently? Tell your stories here.
Mine actaully happened recently! I am a flute player. for now anyway i am in the back of the flute section. there is 3 flutes sharing on stand so it is hard to see sometimes and need to get closer to see. well there was a stand behind me that was in my way. we were in the middle of our warm up and my stand partner that is on the out side. I moved it to get it out of my way. she said to me and my other stand partner that stand just moved by its self. we starting laughing histircaly. then i told her i moved it and were histricaly laughing still and this is all during when we are warming up with our band. we are all laughing and my band teacher is looking at us like we were crazy. thas what happned in band on Friday.

someone pushed someone a rolly chair across our band room and I was propped up talking and playing guitar on the other side waiting for the game to start. they hit me and knocked me over, making the guitar smack me in the side of the head, gashing my ear open, and I had to go to the ER. I got there, and it was literally empty in the waiting room. I got stitched up left (the waiting room is now full to the brim) and made it back for ahlftime with six stitches in my head!

So many funny things happen in band-- it's ridiculous! But this morning, my DM and i were leaving the stage to go back to the band hall to get our music (yeah, we're both retards). He tripped over this stage cord thingy and got tangled in the curtains. So he's like beating the curtains, trying to get free, and i was too busy laughing to help him. Finally, he got free, straightened up and said (in a very dignified voice) "You didn't just see that." And i was like "Of course not." *pantomimes battling curtains* It was really hilarious.

1-I sit behine one of my clarinetist friends in the stands at almost every game. The first game we went to when I had my new sax, she kept turning around to look at it. In the middle of "Hey Baby" she turned around and stuck her hand as far into my bell as she could fit it. While I was playing. Her boyfriend got mad at us because we had "crazy bell-sex" without him. He's just jealous of our relationship.

A little girl picks it up and he yells down to her to hold on to it, he'll be right there to get it.
Apparently, she didn't hear him, becase when he got down and asked what she had done with it, she innocently replied "Oh, that round black thing? I threw it over the fence over there! *points towards woods*"
John: *jaw drops* *He stands there for about 5 miutes looking torn between rage, shock, and tears
Kyle: *pulls out cell phone and takes a picture*

DM's podium collapsed on him at band camp, knocking into the huge scaffolding our BD uses, and makes it shake. The BD's 65 feet in the air and starts screaming and holding on for his life. quite funny.

I threw it over the fence over there! *points towards woods*" John: *jaw drops* *He stands there for about 5 miutes looking torn between rage, shock, and tears Kyle: *pulls out cell phone and takes a picture*  Ouch Our band and our "rival" band were playing for a Carneval, and they "beat" us (it's their turn to win that week), so we captured oneof their cymbals and spraypainted our colours and logo onto it (with hair/face paint, i.e. washable), and replaced it just before their encore on stage. The way the drumset is placed, you could totally see the painted cymbal from the audience.  |

EVERYTHING that happens in my band is funny (almost) !! One of the funniest was our band aid awards. We have this awards ceremony (super causual and relaxed though, and just for bandies not for parents or anything...it was just after band one day) were the section leaders hand out awards to everyone in their section. Most are in the form of "most likely to *insert something that happened during the season here*" Mine was "most likely to be *section leaders name here* sidekick during water fights" SOme of the funniest were: -most likely to finally understand the discipline problems in the trumpet section when left in charge for 5 minutes -Most likely to look like he's suffering from turets while getting out of *****'s car -The Dude Where's My Flute Award for most likely to forget their flute and not remember it until the busses are pulling out of the parking lot -Most likely to forget part of his uniform while going to contest -Most likely to encourage his section by saying "you suck at life" -Most likely to be called Steve and not be named Steve -Our BD got the most likely to lose his identity by the age of 23 and then they listed all his aquired nicknames including the name he got from one of the flute section leaders after we qualified for states which was "P-Dizzle the Dominator" or something of the sort There were a LOT of really funny ones, but I can't remember them all  . Besides, most were inside jokes  |

Haha our band has a habit of... um... "borrowing souvenirs" from pretty much where ever we go. We have a track hurdle from McGavock, about a thousand Munford Band magnets, a giant Peabody High magent, a "Contest Parking --->" sign from Bandmasters, a Vanderbilt flag (the kind from the ones on top of the lightposts), a University of Memphis flag (the giant kind that is on the top of the Liberty Bowl), a "No Refills Sign," and a "100% Guarantee" sign. And lots of other random things. All of which make me giggle.

I got the aforementioned stitches out yesterday!
We have one extremely outspoken trumpeter in my section, and the BD HATES him. We had no percussion for stands music before our first game in class, so he made him made all the percussion noises. the cowbell for lowrider was great..."tinktinktinktinktinktinktinktink"

Haha as we were putting our uniforms on the truck today, I saw another large band magnet that doesn't belong to us... and a sign that says "Media Entrance."

hmmmm... my mouthpiece flew out of my horn at practice, landing on the ground right as we were about to move. I had to s-l-o-w-l-y reach down to get it without the BDs noticing so we wouldn't have to do pre-game again, and all this time, one drum major is laughing, the other drum major has no idea what happened, and I'm laughing while trying to pick up this dang mouthpiece. We stop in the spot we're supposed to, and I still can't play because I didn't have enough time to put my mouthpiece back in, so I was smiling or singing, I forget which. At this point, both drum majors are laughing because one told the other what had happened.
We still had to do pre-game again.

This kid who plays alto sax in my band asked a sousaphone to switch instruments for Basics.
Moron, no? I thought it was really funny. So did the sousaphone.

Well, our BD has this thing going with the American History/Phsycology teacher. One day a kid asked to leave history class to go to a band lesson, but instead of letting him go and giving him a pass, our history teacher gave him a pink backpack and made him wear it to the band room. He came back to class after his lesson with a giant wooden spoon. Later, one of my friends was at a lesson and going back to history, so our BD gave her a big plastic candy cane (with faded/no stripes, and it was broken), wrote "eat me" on it and used it as a pass. A couple weeks ago, I had to go to history class, so our BD gave me the pink backpack to take back....how degrading. But hilarious! We have a giant plastic santa claus in the band room, the History teacher says he wants is back....

Ahh where to start......
well the funiest thing probaby happended in 7th grade. This was before the middle school had a separte band room, so the orchestra and band practiced on stage. We weren't supposeed to leave our cases on the stage, but the violins did anyway. Our band directot had this habit of backing up sideways and jumping off the stage to get to the piano on the floor to play a part on the piano. Well one day there was a violin case he didn't see in his way. He tripped and fell on his back and lay motionless. It was scary for a sec, but after it was really funny ;D

Hmm....well, today I was giving everybody my curly ribbons from indoor (long story) and I had one left, so I told Emily to give it to my BD. She ran (literally) into his office, handed it to him, and yelled "Happy birthday!"
*BD looks up from computer* "What's this?"
*odd silence*
*BD taking the ribbon* "It's not even close to my birthday!"
