I don't think it would be easy having crushes outside of band, because (like flute03 said) it's such a commitment, and I couldn't stand to be with someone who hates music or anything.
But I like our oboe player... words can't explain her enough.

It would be hard for me to date outside of band... what would I talk about? Seriously, though, I have a major crush on someone in the band... Though I don't have much liberty to say who it is, as there are people from my school on this forum, and I'd rather keep it my secret crush.

I have a crush on a trumpet player in our band... and I don't really care who knows because I know Flutist Kes and musicscifigirl know him but they just don't know who it is. (if that made any sense at all) musicscifigirl's little sister know's who I'm talking about, anyways. we need to get her on here someday... *writes memo*

Trumpet player in our band... Freshie or Sophomore? This is gonna be fun guessing. ;D OK, you know what's sad? I've been crushing on the same person since 7th grade, at the least. Maybe the end of 6th. I'm in 10th now. Well, that knocks a couple people off the list as to who I like... let's knock some more! It's a brass player. 'Course, there's only 2 dudes woodwind players in the band, and one moved into our band in 8th grade and one is just... well, I never talk to him. And I never talk to the percussionists. So, the list so far: lowerclass band, my grade, brass player... who is the winner? More importantly, who is Duel's winner? Gosh, I'm gonna go nuts over that now.

Well...I have a HUGE crush on a guy, but we aren't in the same band at school. I met him at National Wind Ensemble and he plays the French Horn very beautifully. There's just one problem...HE LIVES IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE!!!! *cries*

I've had my crushes in band, tenor sax player, a couple of the trombonists, frech horn player(my crush now). I seem to like a lot of brass players. Now I have a freakin crush on the bd's son, that's not good. Never had a boyfriend.

I've had a crush on another tenor player in my band for three years now. He's SO mean to me. He's always trying to get me in trouble and poking me and taking my stuff (like yesterday, he took my pep band music off my stand and I was freaking out trying to find it)... but at the same time he's one of my best friends and I love him to death. We have SO much fun.
I don't know that I could ever seriously be with someone who's not in band, at least, not right now. It would be weird. They wouldn't understand the commitment level. My best friend has this guy friend who I've talked to a bit and who wants to meet me, so my friend proposed that we both come over to her house, along with her boyfriend who's friends with the guy. He wanted to do it this weekend, but I have band stuff all over the place this weekend and couldn't do it. She told him that I "was busy" because she said he wouldn't understand the band commitment since he's never been in band. Which I guess makes sense, but still. I just can't see myself with anyone outside the band. This year it is, quite literally, my life.

What really sucks is when you have a crush on your DM, cause chances are there's another dozen or so who do too. That happened to me a little while ago, but I realised it was stupid so I gave it up. Now I actually think it's kind of funny, but it still sucks when it happens. I'm thinking that's probably pretty common in all bands...

About this whole trend of getting crushes on DMs... does it count if you had a crush on him before he became a DM, but didn't once he did?

Ummm... no? Because it was before he was a DM, then you saw his true handsomeness, and not the DM curse that inflicts so many. (Not me! I'm imune! Rock on!)
Now I'm sad... my crush isn't in my band any more... I left him to go to upper band... So I only get to see him in jazz and 1 class... :bigcry:

Now I'm sad... my crush isn't in my band any more... I left him to go to upper band... So I only get to see him in jazz and 1 class... I did that my sophomore year. I had been put in the lower band by accident, so I switched up to the upper band the first day. Then I found out that my crush had a scheduling conflict and was stuck in the lower band. I was upset.
