Crushes are funny. I have had a few of them, but I've outlasted all of them, and am perfectly aware of how ridiculous they are. Fortunately, I've only had one real crush on a fellow band member. Unfortunately, it happens to be the current one. She's an underclassman clarinet (cute, but it's the wit and quirk I like), so the fact I'll be in college this year will settle that matter. I can't picture myself in a relationship anyways, considering my anti-social tendencies.

So get this. My sophomore year in my high school band, which in September would be 3 years ago, I started to have a crush on one of the freshmen. Now, on a couple of the band bus rides to and from the school to Friday night football games we would sit together. I would talk to some of his friends and my friends. And on the night trips back to the school... it was pitch black and no one could see... so we would hold hands. (This was a big deal for me at the time because I hadn't had my first kiss yet.) Anyway, we would hold hands and cuddle on the bus, but once back at the school nothing would be said about it or he would say he had no contol over what he was doing because he was asleep. And with the weeks to come it was like it never happened. So, it went on and we just were really good friends. We went through the years and nothing really happened... I mean we would hold hands here and there.. but we were just really good friends. My senior year came around last fall... and I began to get closer to him and I would sit with him on the bus rides along with all my other friends. Until one game where I sat with him the whole way there and the whole way back... holding his hand and smile at them. All those feelings I had came rushing back like they never went away. Then his hat flew out the window. I tried to comfort him, but somehow we ended up making out the entire way back to our school. We've been dating for a little less than a year now. And each day that goes by I find out a little more about what happened almost 3 years ago. I just find it really funny. But I also love him very much.
Thought you guys would get a laugh out of that. ;D

I have never dated anyone in band, but i must say, band does tend to attract some really cute guys. Iv always wondered what it'd be like to date in band, considering you'd always be around them, ya know? But then again, every relationship iv seen ever made in band, has never lasted. and every relationship outside of band that iv seen, has always lasted longer...i wonder why that is..

I think with dating in band, you see them so much that you almost get sick of it. Ya know? They're always around and you can't necessarily avoid them. But you really ONLY see them a lot in band, and its hard to spend time with them outside of it. But then I've only dated music people, and that's just what I've found. And I think it might be a high school band thing, because it doesn't seem to be a problem in college band.

Every girl has a crush on the woodwind tech in my band. He's.... well, hot. And hilarious! He's good at what he's doing, but he's also 23 and too old for any girl in the band. Therefor, two of my flutties left the flutes because they knew they couldn't have him. Being section leader and losing most of your section stinks, especially when 2 of the people who left were for guy reasons. I lost a few more for other reasons.
