I made a new banner for my sig! why just snare? The Cadets picture is a tenor. And I happen to like snare. Kk? Happpppy- my parents are getting me a new laptop this weekend. And they're thinking about adding: - Photoshop Extended
- Illustrator
- Acrobat Pro
- Dreamweaver
- Contribute
- Flash Pro
- Fireworks
as a happy scholarship/happy knee recovery present. (I can get all of those for only $269 with student discount. And for those of you who know Adobe Photoshop, that's a pretty amazing package for the price.)

I'm really happy. My h.s. bd from last year moved on after a family tragedy to teach at a college (that's not why I'm happy). A piece was written in honor of his family that his college band will be playing at their final concert this May. Well, he invited a dozen or so kids from my high school who "had an impact on his family" to play the piece with his college students at the concert--and I'm one of them! I'm so honored that he asked me to play with his band. He only had me for one year, but I impacted his family? That makes me feel really special, no joke. We'll be playing their whole concert with them in addition to the memorial piece, so I'm excited to play with a college ensemble, too. Then we get to hang out with our old bd at a restaurant after the concert. PLUS, I got my music for one of the pieces (Today's the Gift, arr. by Samuel R. Hazo), and since there's no clarinet parts, my old bd (it's his writing) gave me a 1st trumpet part to play--the other two clarinets from my school (both upperclassmen) got 2nd and 3rd parts to play.

My friends amuse me greatly. Because they complained the last one was too hard (I'm sorry I thought everyone knew I had a thing for feathers on ponies) I made a new 'how well do you know me' quiz on facebook. The answers made me laugh. According to them I'm 5'3", play field hockey for the school, and my favourite book is either The Complete Anthology of Arthurian Legends (its good but the print is too small to truly enjoy it) or I Kissed Dating Good-bye (had good points but I thought he was over simplifying the situation)
I also discovered the woodwind guy at a local music store is really helpful. He basically planned out my audition for me!
And I got to vote!

I had a really good music day yesterday! I found out I made the top choir at my school, I got a superior on my solo at contest, and I made the Minnesota All-State Orchestra! I'm a bit disappointed because I got a better score on my solo last year and I'm going to be the only person from my school in the orchestra, but I'm still really really happy!

My brother agreed to get his hair cut like David Tennant! (10th Dr in Dr. Who) His only stipulation is that I style his hair for him until I leave for college- small conciliation for finally getting him to get rid of that mat that's on his head now. Now I just have to schedule the appt right away and go with him so he doesn't back out (he's as open to change as the rest of the family- not at all)

^Woah. You like Dr. Who too?! What do you think of Donna? (and no, the closest I've gotten is his instance on reading Pygmalion with a Monty Python-esque voice, wasn't 'brilliant' was more the 9th? or was that 'fantastic'?)
