Today's comic made me think about what I'm about to do. You know you're a band nerd when... ...You eagerly anticipate the start of summer concert band! Seriously. As much as I wanted the school year to be over, I'm so excited that Summer Band has started at UT. Playing for the little band campers is always so much fun! Still, what kind of geek does it make me when I can't even get away from band for 3 weeks of my summer break?

Today's comment reminds me of last year, durring a music-only marching band rehearsal early in the summer. We had all assembled in the band room, and one of the directors quieted us. He set his cell phone on the stand, and walked over to the band room phone. We all watched him, and he called himself... and it rang with the begining of our show from Moorside March! It was highly entertaining.

my friends and i put the show on our phone as soon as we can. but we put different parts of the show on our phones. and usually they correspond. then when our phone rings everyone goes, oh it's so and so's phone.

Today's comic is definitely me. Only I didn't just put the opener on my phone~ I put the whole show! Or at least, the parts of the show where the clarinet had the melody. I did this every year. And every year there were people who thought I was insane. But some people who thought I was pretty cool to have managed to get the songs on the phone. Ah, the memories. ;D

I considered doing that to my phone, but I just don't know how. I would put the opener to my freshman year on it if I actually ended up doing it.

I don't have a cell phone (go ahead, gasp), but I have CDs of previous years' shows and nearly every band song we've played (in Symphonic Band) on my MP3 player. *dorky smile* This comic would definitely apply to the mellophone section leader who graduated my freshman year - she had a Bolero (the opener from that year) ringtone on her cell phone.

Never did have a song from the show as a ringtone, but it's an amusing idea.

the ringtones on "my" phone (its technically my mothers but it has mostly my numbers) are tunes that my friend and I composed on the band bus. That count?
