So, me, my twin brother, and some of our friends are quite established musicians, and we decided that we should audition for a corp or two together. Any ideas what we should audition for? We live in the Chicago suburbs if that affects anything.

Well, if you're from Illinois, then Cavaliers all the way man!! Getting into a multiple time champ on the first try as a rookie is difficult (although I did it when I marched BD). Keep in mind that there are a TON of people trying to Cavies and the other big corps. You might want to consider a smaller corps to get use to corps culture...it's a LOT different than school band. You could also try a Sr corps if there's one close enough. Do NOT pin your hopes on Cavies, Regiment, or one of the other big dogs to the extent that if you don't make them, you don't march at all. It doesn't matter where you march, so long as you do....and some of my favorite programs have come from smaller corps. Good luck!

^ listen to this guy. He knows what he's talking about. Just read his signature.
IMHO it's not who you marched with, but the experience you had. March anywhere you can.

is it a good idea to audition for multiple corps? I'm thinking of auditioning at Scouts, Cavies, and Phantom, but it seems like a lot of money to throw around. What do you guys think?

Feel free to audition for anyone you wish...you can only march one, tho. And have a backup...Cavies and Phantom are going to be hard to make...even Scouts -- low placing though they are today -- are no cakewalk. If you haven't marched corps before, consider an Open Class or Sr corps to build your chops first.
