I just made it into the All-Ohio State Fair Band! And since I was selected to be in it I am utilizing my right to call it something other than All-Ohio State Fair Band because that's just so annoying to say and/or type. I dub thee FOBAS. Because you can't even say AOSFB very well.
Anyway, I am so thrilled because this is my first year on trombone (I started learning about this time last year) and still made it, but I'm also really nervous because we're probably going to have to audition for chairs and I'll probably get last chair but that's alright. I'm also going to miss my high school Band Camp, but I got permission from the director to do so because he thinks I'll be able to catch up fine. I also need to acquire a music lyre and flip folio and a straight mute, and probably some supplies to take care of my trombone (My dad repaired instruments at one point and I found my trombone in the basement. Maybe I'll write a backstory, giving it an interesting history) and maybe even a new trombone if I'm lucky and can pursuade the parents to splurge on one.
Two friggin' weeks of Band Camp. HECK YES.
In case you couldn't tell, I am really, really hyper right now and everyone else band-y in my school is getting ready for Prom right now so I really don't have anyone to rant to so I'm posting on here. Any other FOBAS people out there? Anyone who "actually cares" out there?

Congratulations. Bone is my main instrument too. (Some people call me T-bone because my name starts w/ a T and well, trombone), anyways - What was the instrument you played prior?
Was it a nomination based thing or audition?
