Last year at band camp we were on stage getting ready to practice our show music and one of the clarinets from my section wasn't on the stage yet but his clarinet was laying on the ground. So me and a few other people were on stage and we decided to play a prank on him and so we put a penny in the barrel of his clarinet and when he got back our DM came in and we started warm ups and he started freaking out because no sound was coming out of him clarinet and every one that was apart of the prank started cracking up. It was the funniest thing!

hahaha that's hilarious. that's like this one clarinet in our band. we always steal his case from his locker and while he's elsewhere searching for it we put it back in his locker. He never has a clue.

That's funny! I was told how to do that a few years ago, but I never have.
Also, if you want to freak a flute player out, here's what you do. Take a piece of paper/music/whatever and roll it up. Then, push it into the middle section of the flute. You shouldn't really be able to see it when you do this. The flute won't play, because the air can't get around to the keys. It's funny. We did it to a couple of people during band camp my freshman year. FUNNY STUFF! lol

Whats really fun, is when you see a french horn lying around, just switch the first and third valve slides. This flips the fingering. Its fun watching them try to figure it out. Usually, they end up reversing their fingerings, rather than stopping and trying to fix it.

I have done this before. I think one of my favorite things I ever did in high school was take a friend of mines clarinet and scatter her different parts around the band room. Now I cringe thinking what could have happened to it, because it was a nice E-11. But I was dumb at the time, lol.

At honor band all the saxes were pulling pranks on each other. We'd come back from breaks to find our neck and mouthpiece missing. Necks were hidden in the bells of other saxophones and they hid the mouthpieces in jacket pockets, folders, behind stuff on stands... Eventually we all started putting our horns away during breaks just to avoid the prank, but someone took 2 saxes and switched the cases. It was pretty funny. Another guy also hid our music hoping we'd walk in late and then freak out about no one having the first alto part.

I heard this horrible story once about how for a prank some clari mixed up the parts to all her section's instruments and they couldn't figure out which parts were theirs- ouch.

Brilliant... my best friend and i are already planning pranks for next year's seniors. For the bari sax player, we're gonna buy a whole bunch of pads and stick em to the inside of sax and write stuff on them lol. He's going to freak! But no one has the guts to pull a prank on me... mwahahaha
