So, hopefully there isn't a thread about this already.
But, who is super excited (and super scared at the same time) about becoming a senior? How much longer do y'all have before you ARE a senior? Has senioritis (or junioritis) hit yet? Tell me about it!
Personally, I have 6 weeks of school until summer, so, 6 weeks until I'm a senior! I. Can't. Wait. I want it so bad. The only things i'm worried about are the shape of the band next year, and college. I'm still a junior, but senoritis has hit. I don't want to do anything, but I would die if my grades slipped.
I just can't wait till the end of the year!

Last day of school is May 22nd here. So, I'll officially be a senior then. I'm looking forward to all the priveledges and stuff like that, but I'm scared to death about college... I wish I could stay in high school forever lol.

AHHHH this thread is scaring the crap out of me! who's taken their SATS, APs, signed up for next year's classes, etc! I've only visited a couple places too because I've been so busy! I can't believe I'll be a senior in like seven weeks or something! Ahh!

yeah it's a scary thought that we're almost 3/4ths of the way through our high school career. That is, if I manage to pass algebra II and chemistry.

I'm so lost on college! I have ideas of where I want to go, and since I'm in top 10%, getting in isn't really an issue. It's just what I'm going to do once I get there are how i'm going to PAY for it!
I'm nervous. I need to take my SAT and ACT...I've got an AP exam coming up in May and I need to take like 3 more next year! AGH!
I'm scared and already know i'm going to be BROKE with all the senior year expenses.

^Not to be condescending or a stalker on the '09 board, but be careful about assuming where you'll get in. College app numbers are higher than ever since more students are going to college and they're also applying to more colleges overall. When I think about who got in where in my senior class, some of the admission decisions will really surprise you. Granted, I feel like there are some schools where if you're in the top 10% (and have everything else to go along with it-- lots of APs, good SATs, lots of activities, good essays and recommendations, etc.) you're guaranteed acceptance. For a lot of people in my area (Maryland), these schools were Towson or Salisbury. But then there are also schools that are getting increasingly competitive, so it's good to have a spread of the types of schools you're interested in. I was in the top 10% and was strong across the board in all the other areas, but still didn't get into William & Mary. College admissions is a game you'll never completely figure out how to play. Just some food for thought as you all are starting to figure out where you're applying, etc. [/soapbox]

^ If you're curious about the college admissions process, check out "The Gatekeepers," which I found to be an excellent book. ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gatekeepers) How about us college seniors in '09? I'm starting to get nervous about applying for a job, let alone a college! It's strangely like how I felt about choosing a school - nervous and excited at the same time. My best piece of advice for all of you college-searchers: it's far better to have too many options and be forced to make a difficult decision than to have no options at all and be forced to take the only path available to you.

^ thanks Scott! that was really well said =D
So I'm kinda having a revelation here (is that even the right word? o.O) For the past 14 years (yes, 14) I have been wanting to be a dolphin trainer or something close to that. But on the way to school today I realized just how much I love Sign Language. Over the day today, I was thinking how much I would enjoy teaching preschool or kindergarten age Deaf children. It is sooo different from what I have been gearing towards. AP Biology will have no affect in that field of study, and neither would AP Calculus or Oceanography. What should I do?
