At PMEA festivals, The Star-Spangled Banner and Salute to PMEA are always played.

We started traditions this year. We play Sleigh Ride and a song called Patriotic Trilogy, which we play for the Veterans Day assembly.

^ Enjoy Sleigh Ride. I am amazed to discover that until this year there was actually a school in the world that *didn't* play Sleigh Ride.

We have a tradition of what we don't play... Rocky Top. I always thought that we should. We live in TN, and it should be played. But the old director hated it (He referred to it as The Song Which Must Not Be Named....really mature) and the new one doesn't have an arrangement for it. Hopefully we'll get one for next year.

(He referred to it as The Song Which Must Not Be Named....really mature) My friend played on a bassoon called He Who Must Not Be Named- she called it that because she was getting a brand new one at the end of the year, so what was the point of naming this one? My junior high had a tradition christmas song called It's Christmas- another medley like Cmas Festival, honestly a pretty cool piece.

We make a big deal about not playing certain ubiquitous stand tunes like 'The Hey Song' or 'Go Big *color*'.
and, like every other band ever, we do 'Sleigh Ride'.

My jazz band has a signature song, 'Jumpin' At The Woodside' that we always play. It wasn't too great at the first concert. I mean we did good but we have some stuff to improve on, and we played it at our second concert last week. By the last concert we're going to add some kickass horn movements

If I have to hear Land of 1000 Dances one more time I will rip off my ears.
