Oh my friend just got a Versa! Her old car- a 97? CR-V was just totaled (ironically by a girl who we went to high school with) so they used the insurance money to put a down payment on it and her parents put up the rest for her grad present (she's commuting to Millersville so she needs a car). I really like it, it's roomy, gets good gas millage, and handles a lot better then her old car. I finally have pictures of the White Monster ^This was my dad's originally and his parents are actually from Norway, thus the flag ^My brother is embarrassed to drive the monster because he thinks the 'love dove' is too girly ;D ^And the interior (I hate the seat cover)

^My family owns a red 2004 CR-V named Peppy. I love it to death! But then again, I also love my own car to death so I never really get a chance to drive the CR-V. I guess that's a good thing though, as its mileage isn't nearly as good as my Civic's. Peppy's six-CD changer calls to me, though...

So I'm kinda bringing this back from the dead... But I have a new car! It's a 2004 Lexus RX330 in a shmexy navy blue! It's such a tool car, but I love it!!! And it fits in perfectly with our RX collection. You know you live in Germantown when your dad drives a black '05 RX330, your mom drives a '00 RX300, and you have one too... My sister and I have officially renamed our garage "the toolbox" due to our tool collection. (and my parents so far haven't decided if they're selling my Celica yet or not... )

So, I totally just went into the garage and took this picture. This is my '96 Buick Regal, which I tend to call "my old person's car", because I feel like an old man when I drive it. But it gets me places, and doesn't look as much like an old person's car as my dad's LeSabre... which is funny considering my car originally belonged to his mother. Plus, it has an amazing Infiniti stereo system that my brother put in when he had it!

I would have to agree with oscarisamazing -- especially when you have a car. I had to run mine for fifteen minutes on Monday just to get the ice to melt enough that I could scrape it, and there's still a sheet of snow frozen onto the roof. Not to mention the roads are all still icy because it hasn't gotten over freezing. It hasn't even gotten close to freezing. It was something like 24ºF today when I went out at noontime. And that was just the air temperature. The wind chill had to be in the single digits. Not to mention my car is absolutely filthy from all the slush-snow-dirt and the sand from the plows. And the interior is full of salt that my dad put down on the walkway -- it gets stuck in my shoes and I track it around with me. And I can't clean the car until we thaw out, which will be, like, June because we don't have "spring" in Rhode Island as much as we have about a week of thawing and then it's three billion degrees outside. Snow is just awful. It's great when you're a kid, sure. Once you start having to help shovel, once you start driving, once it no longer means days off from school or work -- it loses its appeal pretty quickly. I grew up in New England. You can have my snow.
