Okay, so everyone has an instrument that they love. Everyone also has one they hate. What's your least favorite instrument?
Mine's fife.

I highly apologize to all those people that believes that this instrument has a beautiful sound, but I must state my case. The oboe. I can't stand it. The joke that goes "What's a minor second? Two oboes playing in unison" is so accurate. Again, I apologize to all those oboe players out there. I'm brass biased, what can I say?

The guitar. I absolutely can not stand the instrument. Unfortunately it has to be so popular to.. I also do not like the flute, or the low brass instruments...

I love my Trombone. The way the brass glistens in the sunlight; the way long tones vibrate my soul. Only my Trombone could give me joys like these and theirs not buttons as well.
My First attempt at poetry wasn't that bad
I dislike the synthesiser

I have love for almost every musical instrument most of the time. That's MOST of the time. Things that you typically don't like are good when they're good. Like, if you hate strawberries. If there are REALLY good strawberries and you had some of them, they're probably not going to be all that bad. Good things are just that: good. Likewise, bad things are just that: bad. (Any instrument out of tune will hurt your ears, likely.) However... I'm going to say cowbell and bagpipes are my least favorite.

My bassoon is my least favorite when I'm having a bad reed day...
Otherwise though I love it.
I despise Bb clarinets, altos and basses are fine but the shrillness of the altissimo register on a Bb gets to me, REALLY quickly.
I'm not crazy about the tuba, not because of the way it sounds, but it seems like it would be so boring to play most of the time.
The bell set is another so-high-it's-obnoxious instrument... I enjoy high keyboards more in small doses.
This last one is conditional: I abhore an english horn when it is played BADLY. The immature english horn sound is one of the most whiney, gut-wrenching and horrible noises I have ever heard, the immature oboe sound a close second. However, when played correctly the instrument is a BEA Utiful thing indeed.

By far, the violin. It is the worst sound ever when played horribly, and is pretty boring to me even when played well. I'm also not a big clarinet fan.

Quads, snares, cymbals, and basses.
Yeah, our drumline has tainted my views on those instruments.
But the pit's cool with me. ;D

least favorite? Hmm, so many to choose. Probably the flute and the clarinet. And I have kinda grown to dislike the alto sax (long story).

I don't really have a least favorite instrument, but if I HAD to pick it would have to be the tuba. It's beautiful when played well. But it's very difficult to have a great band without a good tuba player. Then the flute. I LOVE the sound, but I hate it because I can't play it at ALL. It's practically the one instrument I can't play at all...there are others that I can't play "well", but I can play them (and I hardly ever attempt because of clarinet auditions). I love the trumpet, and even started to learn it in 7th grade, but I can't stand them some of the time. As a clarinet player myself, I am completely in love with the instrument. It has a range that some instruments can't even begin to match. The beauty of the tone, when played correctly is breath-taking. But I must say, that when it is played incorrectly, it is one of my LEAST favorite instruments. I'm not talking about when beginners start, because I love teaching beginners how to play clarinet, and I love watching them mature on it. (I have to say that when Chad Burrows plays Weber's Second Clarinet Concerto, it isn't shrill in the slightest, even at altissimo F, A, Ab, and B. Or when Sabine Meyer plays Mozart and Weber, hanging around in the altissimo is actually pretty pleasant).

It's a tie for me between alto saxophones and trombones (sorry all players of those instruments). I think my dislike of these instruments doesn't stem from the instruments themselves but from the people that play them (in my high school band, at least). I've had bad experiences with two very nasty trombone players in the past and ome of the the alto saxes were just rude, obnoxious, arragent, and had no respect for the band. But I do admit that I don't like the general sound of a trombone very much.

Whats wrong with the sound of a Trombone, It's Bright on the high notes, and when played correctly is amazing on the low notes
