(first, hi. i'm new. i play alto sax & oboe c: )
I was wondering if any of you have advice on dealing with seniors that are graduating. I mean, yeah, I understand that they have to graduate some time, but for me, it's really hard this year.
Last year, as a freshman, I met this amazing and crazy guy who became my best friend. No. He's definitely my brother. I really believe that he is because he resembles what my brother (now passed on) looked like, and I'm sure they would've had the same personality. Sam and I are as close as you can get without being related. And he's at our county's career center this year, so I don't see him at school much, only at after school rehearsals. Now I'm a sophomore and he's a senior, and it's been really hard for me dealing with the knowledge that he'll be leaving this year. We've had tons of great memories, and I know that I'm going to use the rest of the year to make some more, but it's just hard, you know...he's my bestbest friend. Any help?

I know how you feel. Last year, my freshman year, I developed a huge crush on a senior. I liked him a lot, and we were pretty close. Dealing with him leaving was the hardest thing I have ever done. My advice: At the graduation itself, if you feel like you will cry, just do it. It's a great release, and I can't begin to describe how much better I felt after I cried for a while. Trust me; it may be embarrassing, but you will feel better. I hope this helps, and I hope it all goes well.

haha..the only thing is that i'm not normally the type of person who cries a lot. it's actually sort of our joke together. but when he graduates, i think this will be the exception. after our last football game i went home and bawled my eyes out. and i'll probably make it my job to take lots of pictures of us before the end of the year, too. yeah. most definitely.

Aww. :[
My best friend/boyfriend and I were similar to that. Last year, he graduated and I was a sophomore. It's just not the same going to school without him still [it's rather depressing], but he's going to a local state university so I get to see him once every two weeks or so. :] And of course, I talk to him every day. :]]
Make each day count. And keep in touch. :] Texting, email, Facebook, calling, IM... So many options!

as a freshmen sophmore i have a friend like that, she taught me flute, helped me march, encouraged me to become a leader. Now shes in colorado and i in california,we keep in touch over facebook and she comes out for summer and x-mas. For all the seniors we do something for then after marching season ends, we had everyone in band write a letter to the seniors, and published them in a book with the front cover being pictures of them, they really loved it
