Anybody have to do an indoor show because of rain? We had to last week, but we decided to do something different. We marched our entire show indoors, with only minor tweaking. It was designed that way. We wanted to be able to take it indoors for rainy days and too take it to the middle school and on the road as a recruiting too. I was just wondering if anyone else has done something like this?

How did you have enough space? We would never be able to do that in a school gym. We just park, blow, and leave if it rains and moves indoors.

I think that my band could probably march indoors due to our small size, however, I don't know how that would work because it seems like it would be hard to transition from yard lines and hash marks to a basketball court with completely different markings (unless they somehow taped out yardlines).

I'm glad there's a topic about this. I've always thought about creating a small "Blast"-esque group that would perform at basketball games, kind of a mix of a pep band and a marching band. If you want to have some fun, download the pyware demo (or any other drill writing software, I'm guessing most programs have this) and try out the basketball court template. Pyware has a bunch of preset grids for various arenas, including middle school basketball. I tried making some drill for 32 players, it's really fun, since the space is so small you can do some very impressive visuals without a ton of movement.

we got rained out of 2 shows last year and had to perform in the gym. the band was in horn arcs on one side, pit on the half-court line, and guard in a block on the other half.
