Okay. so here's the deal. Our school just got a color guard. I find it really cool. (but im going to stay on the band side in the summer/fall) But I really want to be in winter guard. I got to twirl my friend's flag today and it was sooo much fun.
So does anyone want to give me any tips/advice on how to not bomb my audition?
P.s. I have dance, marching and baton experience

practice, practice, practice!! also, ask your guard friends for help before auditions. I couldn't give much more solid advice than that. Having dance experience will really help you out, so way to go on that front. Above all, be CONFIDENT. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you struggle. A "can do" attitude goes a long ways. lol, and when it comes down to the actual audition, be sure to be looking up (as in not focused on the floor unless that's what the work calls for).

I have been in guard for 3 years now, and what we tell the girls every year is to look up, smile, and try to make it look like it is easy and natural. Making it easy can be hard, but if you practice the routine enough, you wont even need to think about what comes next, it will begin to flow.
one other thing i have done is take a video of a veteran doing the work, and watch it to be sure you aren't missing anything or doing anything wrong. that has helped me a lot in the past, mainly because i am not a speedy learner when it comes to certain work.
Good Luck! just be sure to be confident, even if you mess up, smile like it was supposed to happen that way and keep going. sometimes how fast you can get back into a routine can be an incentive for them to accept you.
Work it out!

this piece of advice won't directly help you get into the guard, per se. but its still good to do: make friends with the guard now, during marching season, so that when you try out with them in the winter, you won't feel like the odd man out. we had 3 trumpets try out for our winter guard this past year, and the three of them kind of stuck together for a little bit until we broke them apart haha. good luck =] it sounds like you have an in already, with the experience you have. i think you'll be fine (granted, i have no idea what your guard is like...)
