I'm switching this coming up year to bari sax for marching band, but i need some help. Its different from a bass clarinet in the fact that i can't play the low notes. On the bari, i can only go past a low C, which is equivalent to my open G on bass clarinet, but its really hard to go lower.
Any suggestions?

Uhh, practice perhaps? I'm not entirely sure what to do. From experience, usually it take a good few hours to get used to the ombrochure of the new reed type. Don't worry, it'll sound good once you get used to it.

Loosen up that embouchure, drop your jaw, and BLOW. The lower you go, the looser your mouth should be on the mouthpiece. By "low C" it sounds like you are referring to the C in the middle of the staff, which is not low at all, am I right?
If you are not doing so already, try using a 2.5 reed. Reed preferences are different between clarinets and saxes; while clarinets seem to have no problem with 3.5s, saxes will struggle with anything greater than a 3.
Kudos to you for sucking it up and marching the hardest instrument in the world to march with. I'm jealous, but my bd doesn't let us march bari sax.

Yeah, what he/she said. Sorry, I couldn't give you the specifics for I'm not a woodwind player.

Thanks! I am using a 2.5 reed strength right now. It is getting a little bit better.
