So next school year, my school district is (finally) moving the 9th graders up to the high school. (Which has been 10-12 since it was built a few years ago) So that means that this summer at band camp, and for the rest of the year, the juniors and seniors will have two new classes at the school to deal with. Do you think the juniors and seniors will look over the sophmores (me and my friends) and prefer to mess with the freshmen? I don't think that our upperclassmen are that bad. Our high school band invited our (freshmen) band to play with them at several of the high school football games. One of their games fell on Halloween, so we all got to dress up in our Halloween costumes. I was hanging out with some random girl in the band hall, she was dressed up like a fairy. We had this huge magical fairy dust/glitter fight. (We were both sparkly for the rest of the night.) Turns out she was a really good senior saxophone player, the section leader, a member of the super special honor band, etc.etc. I think I've just reassured myself that I will survive.

Maybe my band is just special, but I started marching in the 7th grade, and I never had trouble with being picked on. Ignored, yes, but not too badly. Everyone was nice to me. -shrug-

My guess is that they'll get both grades. Sorry. =\

It kind of depends on the senior class's character, but I'd guess that if you keep with it you can probably get ignored.

The messing around in marching band is usually pretty funny. They'll get anyone who has never marched before. Just dont do ANY eating contests during band camp lol.

freshmen at my hs are part of the hs, but not the marching band (except guard), so sophs are the newbies. from what i've seen the sophomores can fly under the radar if they really want to. just don't try to correct others during rehearsal. that's the sl and bd's jobs, not yours.
