I personally think no section should be cut or band from playing any notes. There is obviously a reason composers keep putting instruments and notes into the music.

i totally agree, i said that before, but honestly to repeat... (it seemed like i ruffled some feathers) i don't THINK anyone should leave, but i'm just saying we could be a band without color guard. but we do need them to look good as i said before, we just don't need them to sound good.

Sorry, guardies, but we don't need 'ya. Without a single flag/auxiliary piece of equipment (or woodwinds, for that matter), this is still one of the most bad-ass things my eyes have ever seen, or my ears ever heard.

No, you can't take ANY section out of the band. I wouldn't disagree if it was a particular person. There is one person who I wish would like break their thumb or something so they can't play - ever! But you shouldn't bias a particular section because all you know is bad playing. I LOVE oboes - when they are good. Sax is also really pretty when the player can actually control their air. It is wonderful when I actually have to think if it is a sax or clarinet or if it is an oboe or violin because they can actually PLAY! I don't think double reeds should march - ever. But I love their sound. I would wish a section would shrink (flute and percussion!).
