The only reason I'm putting this thread in this section of the forum is because I picked up this game or PS2 on Thursday, and it's probably the best football game ever. One of the coolest things about it is how true to life the marching bands sound! Haha... leave it to me to geek out about it, but every time you score, the authentic fight song plays.
Trust me, it was so awesome when I played a pickup game at Peden Stadium (Ohio vs. Miami, damn rivals) and scored, only to hear Stand Up and Cheer play. I definitely had a stupid grin on my face.
So, if you like college football and LOVE college marching band, go buy it. Since I've been too cheap to shell out $400-some for a PS3, I've kept my PS2, and it's only $30.

Random question, but do you know if they've updated UVa's fight song? I know Madden 2006/07/whatever used the version performed by the Virginia Pep Band, and, of course, it sounded horrible....
(If it sounds like an out of tune version of Auld Lang Syne, it's the old version with the pep band. If it sounds like an in-tune version of Auld Lang Syne, or like a standard fight song, it's the new version by us)

Well, I actually wouldn't know for sure. The fight songs play randomly as you browse menus and stuff, and of course you hear the fight songs against the teams you play. I'm doing Campus Legend mode where you start as a freshman and have to win games, keep up your grades, etc. One of the schools that offered me scholarships due to the in-game training was University of Washington (which I took 11-1 to the Rose Bowl against Ohio State... and lost), so that's nowhere near whre UVa is since it's in the Pac-10 Conference. As far as I can tell, all the fight songs sound very accurate. Only one or two that plays randomly sounds a bit "off." Though I do think I've heard and Auld Lang Syne-type song, and it didn't sound half bad.

Haha, completely random to the music, I took Marshall from being 4-8 my first year, to being in the ACC(Were CUSA now) and being a 2 time IA National Champion. Its like, 2030 on my dynasty and the top 5 teams from 2029 final standings were Marshall, UCF, Toledo, Ohio, and North Carolina.Crazy isnt it?

I haven't played it, but I found a preview/trailer video for it using U of I, and let me tell you, I am NOT impressed with how they treated our fight song. The trumpets sound like they're playing into mutes (either that or they're made of tin) and the drumline just sounds wrong. It sounds like someone used a REALLY bad MIDI instead of an actual recording. Here is the link... www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNMZZWtxRUAAnd here is a much better version. Start around 4:10, unless you want to watch the Three-In-One (which I recommend you do!). Make sure to watch it in HD. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ayTLXyezbA

Haha they don't even play our fight song. Contrary to popular belief, "Rocky Top" isn't our fight song (it's really "Down the Field"). But it sounded ok. Better in real life with everyone singing with them of course.

Any time we (Ohio) are in the top ANYTHING as far as football goes, you know you have a problem.
