My band has horrible Clicks. I used to be in one then I fought with a girl because she backstabbed me and that click engulfed more clicks now they all turn on you. Its the weirdest thing. Things like drama spread like wildfire. Is this the same anywhere else?

We have a woodwind clique that hate the low brass for some reason. Especially one chick. But we are so small we are almost a clique unto ourselves.
I personally stay out of band drama--my section is too laid-back to worry about it.

well, the guard is just a huge band hating clique. haha nobody likes them, except for the only sane guy in guard, and he's awesome, and they think they own people in band. theyre mostly all over the guys when the guys really dont give a and would rather live a life without those annoying guard girls, and theyre to the girls in band. thats how it is. oh and 95% woodwinds hate trumpets. but i dont care. lol

There's the "Too Cool for Band/Jocks" clique The "We Think Our Old DM is a Hot God" clique and then the freshmen flute clique. Otherwise, we pretty much all get along splendidly.
There's also the Freshmen Drummers/Some Drumline clique that my friends hang out with sometimes.

Hmmm...cliques. The ultimate evil. I'm on the borderline of 'those weird kids from drumline and random sections'. Then there's the managers and the sub managers, band fronts, drumline. other than that, not much. sooo yeah.

we have a ton of cliques in band. and they're all EXTREMELY dramatic. i think it's a band thing. we all need at least a little drama to survive (even if we hate it.). if i were to name them they would probably be something like: -"Clarinet Slack-offs" (I hate this one especially...and it's about 1/2 my section.) -"Flute Snobs and trombonist who has an insane crush on one of them" (who think they're too good for the rest of the band...and the poor trombonist...) -"Smart Kids" (this consists of a couple clarinetists, our female tuba player, a flautist, and maybe 1 or 2 other kids) -"The Percussionists and Flutes" (i dont know why they hang out together...but its like 1/2 the flute section and almost the entire percussion section) -"Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and their significant others" (<--i'm in that one) and then there are some people who just float around from clique to clique...but the DM/SL one stays pretty constant.
these are just the cliques from our varsity band (juniors and seniors), i'm not quite sure about the other 2 bands and their clique-y-ness.

okay, so i dont mean to sound mean but this is how they go:
-DMs and random guy who might as well be DM -SLs -Clarinets who think their ghetto -Wind Ensemble fish -Symphonic band fish [and a random senior...] -"i dont care about band" -"we think we is ghetto" -the seniors -"im too good for band" -colorguard -everyone else.

Every band has cliques because think about it, if you have 200+ people [more or less depending on your program] in the band, everyone cant be best friends with everyone.
Anyway there's always the freshmen group, the leadership group, the athletic group, etc. The point is that bands can have as many cliques as they want as long as they come together in the end.

well we have more: -snobby woodwinds who are too stuck up to mix with the brass -freshmen in brass/saxes [one im in] -'cool' people consisting of upperclass guys who play brass exclusively, but are hilarious and pretty amazing -the 2 preppy snob girl flute players that hang out w/ the above clique -the 'cool' but super crazy low brass- girls in the tuba section, trombones, and there's 1 horn and 1 trumpet cause one of the t-bone players is her sister -tuba pimps. its what they call themselves- all the guys in the tuba section..theyre pretty cool but can be pmsing or something... -the percussionists. they think theyre cool and have their own cult. they can be nice. -guard. mean stuck up snobs .. few people like them. i think that's all.

hmm our band is really split because we had some "issues" to say the least. but so far they are -guard girls (mostly punks) -little freshman flutes that don't talk and if they do are really high pitched and scary sounding -freshman clarinets that only talk to each other or other freshman -trumpets don't really talk to anyone including themselves -lowbrass which has a sub clic of upper and lower classmen but we mesh well and actually talk to other clicks -percussion that mostly just sits in the corner with their sticks -pit that doesn't talk to anyone but pit they occasionally steal things -the biggest click of them all thats really selective and annoying is the saxophone clique they are really annoying and mostly jerks but everyone loves them because they are funny most of the upperclassman have joined this clique but if you aren't in it you will be very lonely from either you'll feel like your getting made fun of or they really are making fun of you. -(this is gonna sound racists but it really isn't) black kids they clump togethers cuz its a southern school and there aren't many and they tend to just stick together they socialize with others but they move in a pack.
yea thats about it i'm thankfully in the "popular" group but i still get made fun of but oh well hopefully after 09 leaves (my class) then the clicks will go away

For the 8th graders, we have: The slackers (all girls)- 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, and a trumpet
The nerds (all boys except for me)-1 flute, 1 clarinet (me), 1 bass clarinet, 1 trumpet, 1 alto sax, 1 tenor sax, and 1 French horn.
And then there's a couple of misfits, and the 7th grade cliques. But I only pay attention to 2 7th grade cliques-the mean flutes and the nice flutes. Since the 8th grade flutes are all either slackers, or a boy (not saying that boys can help create compromises, but in this case, the boy doesn't understand disagreements in girls), so I often have to help these two flute cliques get along.
