Our show this year is pretty cool, we didn't think so at the beginning but we have warmed up to it. It is called "Minimally Speaking" it relays the concept of minimalism. We didn't think it was much of a crowd pleaser but it won us first place! you can listen to it at msconcepts.com, look for minimally speaking grade 4 i believe. There ya go!

Pompeii. Its really cool! You can listen to it at keypoulan.com/comp_pompeii.htmlWe made a few changes to the music, but the biggest difference is the that the trumpet solo in the 2nd movement is now a mellophone solo, and the entire band drops out during the first half, and then the pit plays background during the second part. Its fun music! A really cool show.

we only had time to do one drill, because are band director is stupid, and he doesnt do the drills at band camp....he makes them up during the season. SOOOO, we only learned one opener and 2 dance tunes (The Horse and These Boots Are Made for Walkin) before Katrina hit. We only had a month off of school, but he didnt have time to make any more drills.....so we had one drill (Carambola) the entire season. uugh.

We were technically supposed to have two shows, but we never got around to setting the second one on the field.
~Rockopolis: The City of Rock and Roll~ -Get It On -Roundabout (....there's usually a comment that follows the saying of this tune that's an inside jokes between the clarinets and tubas, but it's really inappropriate, so I'm not going to say it) -Say You Love Me (after our BD says this, there's usually at least one wise-guy who says "I love you!") -Owner of a Lonely Heart -Bohemian Rhapsody (aka...let's make the clarinets run all around the field just for kicks and giggles)
And then our second show was going to be....
~A Night at the Opera~ -Phantom of the Opera -William Tell Overture -Nessun Dorma -La Donna E Mobile -Longhrine (suuuureee.....something like that....it's hell to play, that's all I know....)

First of all, everybody who gets to do Wicked or the Beatles, I'm really jealous.
Our show is called "Earth: The construction in four movements" It sounds pretty lame, but I really like it.
The movements are: Air-moderate tempo, high and floaty... great fun (we have these pods in the drill, its really cool.) Fire-SUPER fast, really... um, intense I suppose would be the word... This is my best for marching, worst for playing Water-really slow and mellow. Our trumpet section leader has a really cool solo. It's so slow that it's my worst to march... and the playing's pretty bad too. Land-pretty cool, moderate speed. It brings back a theme from Fire, which is neat. pretty easy to play and pretty easy to march. It's a good closer.
And obviously pregame, but that's just archs and the Star Spangled Banner, and then we form MCHS and play our fight song.

My band is playing "brass revolutions"
"FREE", by chicago "Spinning wheel"(my fave0, by Blood sweat and tears and "Getaway/september"- by earth wind and fire
ironically, we dont have a lot of brass in the bandand until i stepped up, we didnt have any trombones, which are essential in spinning wheel
