Yeah, the third valve doesn't get much love above the concert Gb/F# on the bass clef. I can't imagine trumpets/sopranos have much use for it, except maybe for that note and to finger odd concert F (written G), but that's a really screwy fingering anyways.

Great piece! Too bad that GT logo ruined it. I guess that's when Spirit of Atlanta was at its peak?

Great piece! Too bad that GT logo ruined it. Oh I don't know...the T gave me a great reference for one of my sets in "Latin Implosion." Kinda...Spirit's highest ever placement was 4th in 1980 (the year Jim Ott died on tour). 80 was a VERY competitive year...top 4 were only seperated by 8/10th of a point...and this on the old tick system. with another week of work, Spirit could've possibly won....they were that good. They tied with Bridgemen in score for the drum title, but lost it to Bridgemen via using GE as the tie-breaker. (Bridgemen took 3rd....their highest placement). 27th Lancers took 2nd in THEIR highest placement (they'd beaten BD at DCI-East....the last time they took a regional). Sadly, both 27th and Bridgemen died a VERY fast death after then. Bridgemen out of finals in 85, dead after 87. 27th ouf of finals in 85, dead after 86. They almost fell out of the top 12 in 82...84 was, however, a great placement (6th) as the first ever finalist to do finals in their home town (beats a 3000 mile bus ride home, lemme tell ya!) They didn't fall out of the top 12 until 1989...and didn't make it back until 2002. Spirit's greatest shows...1980 and 1986....absolutely spectacular.
