I'd have to say I'm very partial to the Cavaliers, but then again, my BD was with them for years. We hosted them for a practice day, and just being around them socially was pretty great too. I'm actually pretty upset that I haven't gone to a DCI competition since the summer before last, I miss the rush.

I pretty much love Phantom. Part of me wants to cry tears of happiness whenever I hear what the mellophones get to play. I want to play it. I'm so jealous-- my assistant bd marched mello with them.

Dan Potter interviewed Phantom's director and they talked about how the mellophones had to hold one F for 64 counts at the end of their show this year, and about how awesome their parts were... ohhhh my God, that would be so hard.

^ I have it. It's so amazing. I think I start drooling everytime I listen to it. But a 64 count note... while moving... sustaining... oh heaven's to Betsy...

Ooooh, gotta love those Blue Devils. Amazing sound, awesome guard, and that snare feature blew me away! Last year's show was amazing too. Gotta love tuba solos.
And, can't forget those Bluecoats! The Criminal show was just pure genius. The guy running off with the case at the end was classic! The visual effects were some of the best I've ever seen.

At my high school you are either a Pantom or a Cavalier. The band is severely divided by this, no emo goth punk prep jock, none of that it is either Phantom or Cavalier. but i am known as the Phantom Emo because I am the ONLY emo flute player. I am also the only flute player who is a Phantom....

I'd have to say Cavaliers for my top corp since my neighbor and our drumline leader are alums.

Blue Devils. They were the first corps I EVER saw, and since then I can't keep my eyes of them. Then next would be the Cavaliers, then the Cadets. I got to hang with the Cadets, and they were so cool, and so nice. I even got to play with them. I was the happiest person ever.

Caballero's alumni. I'm being totally serious I love those guys. If you ever get to a DCA show while they're there watch them. They're great. They're just people who have spent their whole lives in drum corps. They're loud and entertaining and just plain fun to watch
In competition I'd have to say Phantom. They're low bras gives me chills. I like the crusaders.

I absolutely LOVE SCV. I am planning to join them when I get out of high school, or try-out, at least My other favorites are Cavies and Phantom Reg. They are amazing <3333 *DCI = love* We'd get along well. I'm not into SVC, but Cavs and Phantom = / / Okay, Cavs. Hands down. I need say no more on this subject. But I have to admit... I've never seen them live. I have, however, seen Phantom live. I thought I died. They were so good. I thought I was going to cry. EVen thinking about their performance makes my heart swell. I seriously felt like I was going to float away or explode when they performed. It was... indescribable. It was beauty. It was music. It was the most glorious thing. People wonder what music/marching band is all about? DCI is the epitome of music. I mean, I was seriously dying when I got to the DC show. I was telling some of the kids I was sitting near how totally awesome DC is, and excepting a few, none of them believed me until they saw. Sure, they were impressed by the local corps, but when Phantom came out.... it was the most powerful thing. I seriously felt like the hardcorps (ha, pun!) dudes at the Superbowl who rip of their shirts and cry when someone scores. I felt like standing up and screaming or professing my love of corps when Phantom performed. Then again, this is coming from the girl who cried when the U of MN marching band marched down the aisles to the stage at their indoor concert, and also the girl who stood up and screamed when a rival mb won an award b/c their guard captain was so amazing....

I've seen the Cavies live at my own high school, as well as Phantom. They're both downright incredible performers. Though BCB, you're not alone when it comes to feeling so empowered when you see Phantom live... they performed the encore show at our high school show in 2006, I believe, whichever year was their 50th anniversary. In honor of that, when they won 1st place, they played a medley of some of their past shows, and... ... all I can say is I was leaning over the railings of my school's stadium bawling my eyes out at the sheer beauty flowing though those horns. When they played the opening chords of Canon in D, the opener from theri 2003 show Harmonic Journey, I felt like I had just died and gone to heaven, or even better than heaven. It was like the description of ecstasy. So I sat there and cried. AND CRIED. This continued until they were finished. I totally know how you feel. There just are no words to describe it.
