We are having a large stage in the center of the field for this years show... it's a weird concept but I think it will be awesome.
Is anyone else having big/interesting props play an integral part in their show this year?

no props for us I don't think. We are going to have black screens to cover the sidelines and hide the flags when they arn't in use.

We're probably going to have gigantic children's blocks or something along those lines because we're doing a Child's Play show.

We had a great prop last year. Since our 2nd song was Olympiada and was supposed to represent the passion and athleticism of the Olympic games, we made it even better by having a torch on the field. Too bad there wasn't real fire (it was just a windblown piece of orange and yellow fabric attached to the top), but it was really cool. It was in a bronze goblet shaped thing and sat on a platform with the Olympic rings painted on the front. One of the guard girls had a single flag that looked like fire, and right as we formed the Olympic rings on the field at the climax of the song, she "lit the torch." It was really cool. Since this year's show is the 1960s, I thought it would be hilarious if we bought this old VW EuroBus my family and I saw in Somerset, PA, and paint it all tie-die and stuff... then take out the wheels, axels, and bottom chassis, and have about 10 guard girls stand in it and run around the field. If we actually did that? OMG.

We have 8 scary lookin trees and 1 really big one. Also, we have a ramp that is shaped like the curvy hill from Nightmare Before Christmas. And we have a prop in backfeild that has characters from the moveis the show is based on. Its really cool & was painted by 2 of the percussionists. Thats the prop. Its my current avatar, but u can really see it know. The man w/ the blue tie is my bd.

We never use props. We're just too pathetic... and poor.
Infact... this is our first year of marching backwards. Ever. And we only march back three steps. And it's only half the band.

Our guard plays with a giant ball and I think some band dad is making us giant wooden blocks.

since our show is an "american in paris," we're supposedly having eiffel tower and arc de triumph (or something like that).

Awesome, I love American in Paris. I wonder if/when we're getting our props.

This year, our show is titled "Snapshots" and our guard has small white picture frames that they dance with and stuff. During the percussion feature, about 20 guard people take band members' instruments and give them big orange frames. We do some pretty cool stuff with the frames.

We don't really have props, per se, but we do have something cool. We have "party scene" in Rhythm of the Night, where we have streamers rolled up in our uniform sleeves. What we do is attach a screw and roll the streamer up. The nail gives it just enough weight to be thrown into the air, and it unravels in midair. It looks really cool. We also have poppers that shoot confetti, and those party horns.
