Well, I don't have all our shows for the year yet, and what I have is only rumor/speculation, but I'll put it up here in order of how sure I am we'll be doing them. 1. Journey Last year our team's theme was Believe, and since we had so much success, this year's theme is "Keep on Believing". So we'll do Journey for our home opener, closing with "Don't Stop Believing", and from what I've heard we'll spell out "Believe" using a Block I. Sweet... 2. Barenaked Ladies I'm not sure if we're doing this one or what the planned rep is, but doing One Week on the field would be hot. 3. Festival Show- Canadian Brass version of Closer Walk With Thee/When the Saint's Go Marching In and Festive Overture Yeah, I'm not sure how that'll work, I only had one guy talk to me about this show, so it might not be true, but I think our trumpet section *wants* this show to happen... That's all I've got for know, when I know more for sure (probably won't be until August, our SL's this year are slacking) I'll let you guys know.

Ours is The 47 Ronin opener is Lord Asano, ballad is The Masterless Samurai, and the closer is Death to Kira. our bd is changing the theme of it though because our school (not the band) can't handle the whole suicide thing. So he is changing it to be about origami... the drill should be really neat.

Finally heard the show for next in midi format- really glad I'm not marching it. Tons of mixed meter an most of it is slow and the rest insane! Opener is "Circle of Life" (5/8, 3/4, 5/8, 4/4, 5/8, 3/4, etc) which seemed slow and rather thinly written, Middle is "Stampede" Which is crazy, he essentially wants a scatter drill with the guard in the middle with no real guidance. He literally wants a stampede. Closer is as per our usual "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" Love brass loves it for their solos. I'm betting that horrible, hokey hear will emerge again.

That should be ... interesting, to say the least. Since I won't be able to see any of the shows, I'm having a friend who's staying in the area tape it for me. I'm also stopping by band camp to check it out. My "poor" brother is in snare line and supposedly has to run with it.

our show was announced yesterday!!! the music sounds really cool, and it was custom-written for our band by the same guy who writes for Phantom Regiment. The drill is supposed to be pretty cool, and it'll be written by the same guy who writes for Santa Clara Vanguard who did our drill last year too. anyway, the show is entitled Conform (yes the m is supposed to be in a different font), and the music is Rocky Pointe Holiday, Shenandoah, and Tempered Steel. the show is about not conforming. it'll have a lot of solos and stuff like that with people not conforming and the band trying to get them to conform. i dunno. we're a competition band, so unfortunately we're not lucky enough to play Styx or Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Yay I just found out that our next year will probably be the return of the cowboy western show!
It's supposed to be really fast and fun, I'm even more excited than I was last year.

My bd claims he's chosen a show, but he won't tell us! But we all know which shows he's been looking at. Rumor has it that it's The 47 Ronin.

For some reason, no one has said anything about this upcoming marching show. owo
It's all a big secret over the summer.
I have heard rumours of a piece dubbed "Be Thou My Vision" Anyone heard of it?
