Middle G on bassoon, ONLY if the resonance key is pressed LIKE IT SHOULD BE!
Low Db on bassoon is very nice as well, it carries a thick, brilliant tone.
On all sax, High D is my main man.

Flute, the low c, since almost no one in my band can play it Tenor, the Bb (the low one) or a high D

I can play the low c! My favorite's the low D though. It's really nice and warm and I have awesome tone on lower notes.

Ooh, that reminds me, at all-conference, there was this one part at the end of a song where the flutes played a low E-flat on a fermata, and it was WICKED.

On bass clarinet i guess I like anything under low C. I just love those deep, rich tones. If I had to choose a favorite it would be low F.

On bass clarinet i guess I like anything under low C. I just love those deep, rich tones. If I had to choose a favorite it would be low F. i'm assuming by low C you mean one line under the staff... i gotta say my favorite is low C 4 lines and a space under the staff its so amazing. my favorite note in practical use, though? i'm rather fond of the timbre of C in the staff through G one space above. course, those uber-high notes are sweet. it's also fun to stretch the chromatic scale up... and up... and up...(with long notes) i did that once when i was in a practice room with my friend who plays bassoon... i just started at the bottom and played whole notes as far as i could go, and he was like "i was wondering when you were going to stop, it just kept going forever!"
