No offense meant, but I cannot stand the sound of an alto... unless the person is super good. It reminds me of the sound of a dying cat. But then again, that's what people tell me about clarinet...

Aww... I love the sound of the alto. I do however think the tenor is the perfect one soundwise. I've never played the tenor but I'm in love with it's sound.
I'd have to say flute/piccolo is overall my least favorite instrument. I love french horns when they're played right, and I don't mind a little Spanish guitar (it's the rock kind that I can't stand one bit.), but a flute/piccolo, I'm yet to hear anything I like.. The sound doesn't appeal to me at all, not even when a professional is playing.

im amazed my instrment wasnt on here i play trumpet if anyone wants to know. ill admit it sounds like crap if someone dosent know how to play it other than that i love the way it sounds my least favorite instrment is the snare drum but for all the drummers out there there is a reason. it has no pitch and may i also ask a question in our band for some reason there is always a war going on between trumpets and the per. i dont know why does anyone else have this problem

I remember when I would have been offended by seeing my instrument pop up in this repeatedly. but i acknowledge the fact that the oboe has a high potential for icky-ness when it comes to inexperienced players. I can match pitch with one other oboist though, for anyone claiming that it's impossible. (with more than one, there's not much I can do, is there?) And.. for anyone who doesn't like the oboe when it's played by a proffessional... whatever, like I said I don't care anymore. In my band the trumpets need to learn to play with better tone, but I've heard a trumpet sound beautiful too, so I won't say that even though it's the first instrument to jump into my head. Piccolo I guess. It's just a tad *too* high.

I really do not hate any instrument, if it is played right. If a french horn, piccolo, or flute on low notes is played by a poor player, I ABSOLUTY DESPISE THEM!!
oh, did I mention a trumpet played with a harmonic mute??

I very much dislike percussion... Not marimbas or xylophones, but drums. Snare, bass, tenor, whatever. They're really obnoxious lol.

Gawd, I hate the banjo!!! It makes me eye twitch, ha. As for instruments we use in our school band, I'd have to say the bari sax, mainly because our bari sax player squeaks 24/7.

I don't like it when people forget to turn the snare off the snare drum. It vibrates when you play trumpet in the same room. And I would like to destroy the pianos, since nobody can play them! And I would like to murder a few songs, like heart and soul. It is WAY overplayed.

^oh! I know what you mean about pianos! Jeeze, I play it and all and love to, but um... some people don't and therefore shouldn't. It's kind of anoying.

Personally, I just don't like tubas. The ugly blatting sound you get from new players is just horrible. And the tubas in our band have a worse ego than the trumpets. Even our younger one, who's only been playing since January, thinks she's the greatest tuba ever. Also, since I play the flute, I'm not too big on low brass. I'm fine with the euponiums and trombones, but the tuba just bugs me.
