as yoda says... fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, HATE LEADS TO SUFFERING ... that being said, i don't hate any instrument in particular... i don't thing... i do, however, absolutely despise a few specific musical thingys... namely OOMPAS. they definitly make me suffer. so the hate is justified

Why is it that everyone hates clarinets?! They only sound ugly if you can't play it. I hate the french horn.It just sounds weird.

^ just like you said the french horn only sounds wierd if you cant play it. I'm gonna revise my statement i dont hate the actual instrament it's the type of people that tend to play the clarinets that really drives me nuts. in my band it tends to be self-centered, drama obsessed, girls that have nothing better to do than sitck their nose in everyone's lives. The acutal instrament sounds wonderful when played correctally

I am convinced that french horns are the tools of the devil. I swear...hell is filled with deamons weilding horns. Twisted masses of metal that are forever jamming up and collecting spit like there's no tomorrow. 5 different fingerings for every note, playign in 2 different instrument keys...GAH!!! how can the french horn be the instrument of the devil when it's the divine instrument? divine because man may blow in, but only god knows what will come out ;D the instruments i can't stand are saxes higher than bari. the end.

I hate the sound of harpsichords. The only time when I dislike J.S. Bach's music is when he incorporates harpsichords. And here's a picture of a harpsichord on fire

violins, violas, cellos, basses. I'm sorry, but I can't stand listening to a symphony orchestra! It makes me want to eat bleach and die! I've always been this way. It just reminds me of nails on a chalkboard, and I just can't take it.
Oh, and beginning oboes. Burn, baby, burn. :pirate:

Personally, I love playing in and listening to a symphony orchestra because I really like the way the winds complement the strings. I think I almost enjoy playing in a symphony orchestra than I would in a wind ensemble. and about the oboes, I started oboe at music camp in summer 05, and my roomates wouldn't let me practice when they were in the room!

Even as an oboist I must agree...beginning oboes sound like a cat with a refridgerator on top of it. Not pretty. As tinkerbell said, the winds really do compliment the strings. Violins are only bad when they're out of tune...actually, this morning at youth orchestra, I realized just how good our principle first is. But anyway, the only thing worse than a beginning oboist is a beginning violinist, simply because they can sustain a note longer than a millisecond.

I'm going to remember that one and use it in 6th grade oboe class tomorrow!
