I switched last year from euphonium to contra. I have not yet decided which is harder. What Do you guys think is the hardest to play in the whole band?

Trombone, by far, is the hardest instrument to learn. Memorizing slide positions can be more difficult than learning fingerings, especially when the whole intrument is a tuning slide. Tone quality is also hard to keep. Especially if you miss a partial. With orchestral instruments aside, i believe trombone is super hard lol.

Well physically I think a bari sax would be the hardest personally I'm in guard but I play alto but looking at the field they seem to be struggling the most with the drill
but I've attempted playing oboe and yet it's not a marching instrument it's extremely hard to play since I tried after playing sax you have to let out your breath (unlike sax) or you pass out

I'm talking about physical difficulty (heavy). Not to me confused with musical difficulty, in which I would say the flute or tbone are harder.

i play flute, but i would assume that contra would be the hardest physically. and musically flute is WAY easy, not gonna lie.
